I love masking in summers, be it a clay mask or gel mask. They not only give a cooling sensation but also bring multiple benefits for the skin with them. I’ve been using Deyga Turmeric Healing Mask for more than 3 weeks now and can share my thoughts with y’all.

I love masking in summers, be it a clay mask or gel mask. They not only give a cooling sensation but also bring multiple benefits for the skin with them. I’ve been using Deyga Turmeric Healing Mask for more than 3 weeks now and can share my thoughts with y’all. Also, I thank the brand Deyga for sponsoring this post.
Deyga Turmeric Healing Mask

Price: Rs.600 for 100ml. This is quite affordable if you ask me because the tub is quite huge for the price and will last long.

Storage instructions: To be refrigerated once opened and used within 6 months. This mask needs to be kept away from direct sunlight.

To purchase click here.

Deyga is an Indian brand that makes natural formulations, is cruelty free, doesn’t use artificial colours & their products are handmade. I have tried their Rose & Mulethi facemask in the past and really loved it.

Deyga Turmeric Healing Mask

Ingredients:

Deyga Turmeric Healing Mask has pretty minimalist ingredient list.

Vettiver hydrosol ~ soothes skin, reduces inflammation and itching

Aloevera ~ hydrating, calms the skin, soothes sunburn, fights acne

Turmeric ~ has anti-inflammatory & anti-bacterial properties, fights acne, has anti-oxidant properties, helps in healing wounds, helps fight aging by maintaining collagen levels, fades dark spots.

Vegetable glycerine ~ an amazing humectant that helps in retaining water level of the skin

Guar gum ~ thickener

Geogard ECT ~ preservative (certified organic)

Deyga Turmeric Healing Mask

The consistency is gel like. To me the colour and the texture looks like aamras (please tell me it looks the same to you as well). It smells of turmeric ~ slightly medicinal but lovely. The packaging isn’t travel friendly as there are chances of spilling because of the consistency. The applicator doesn’t come with the packaging.

Suitable for ~ all skin types. However a patch test is recommended.

Deyga Turmeric Healing Mask

How to use?

  • Wash your face with a face wash.
  • Tap dry.
  • Apply Deyga Turmeric Healing Mask (a thin layer)
  • Keep it for 7-10 minutes (though the packaging says 30 minutes but keeping this mask for that long feels drying and it butchers the feel of it).
  • Wash it off with plain water.

I really enjoy the cooling sensation it gives (because need to be stored in refrigerator) especially when used after a long tiring day. Feels so so relaxing.

Deyga Turmeric Healing Mask

My verdict on Deyga Turmeric Healing Mask:

I have been using this mask for over 3 weeks now. I usually used this twice a week but now that the weather is so hot, I used it on alternate days & boy! enjoyed it so much. With a regular use, I found my skin has a glow (but temporary), feels soft, the pigmentation has started fading (slightly) and acne definitely started to diminish. I don’t allow the mask to dry completely hence use it for 7-10 minutes and then wash it off.

There’s one con though ~ it stains! Immediately after washing off the mask, an evident yellow stain is seen. But the stain is temporary and fades away gradually. So, I’d recommend the mask to be used at night time because by the next morning, the staining would’ve gone completely. Please avoid using this mask immediately before stepping out (party, meeting, occasion, anything) otherwise you are going to regret it.

All in all, I am enjoying this mask to the fullest during this sweltering weather. I definitely see myself repurchasing it in the future.

Concluding my thoughts. I hope you liked the post and if you did, do consider subscribing to my blog. Show some love by liking, sharing and commenting your views/thoughts. Until next time, stay beautiful & keep smiling!

I have been pretty much open about my love for both natural and synthetic skincare ingredients. Not all synthetic ingredients are bad and not all-natural ingredients are good/safe. But when companies sell rose water with all sorts of fillers and synthetics and then claim it to be ‘natural’ or ‘organic’, it makes me cringe. That’s the reason I stopped looking for pure rose water in the market. But when I read the description of Jeva Pure Rose Water Facial Toner, my hopes were revived.

Jeva Pure Rose Water

Price: Rs.150 for 50ml.

You can purchase from Nykaa: https://nyk0.page.link/9hPSteYp8HxUjg4Q9 (as per confirmation from the brand, they are in the process of making fresh batches of the rose water which’ll be available soon. At the moment this product is out of stock almost everywhere.)

Jeva Pure Rose Water

The bottle is very tiny and perfect to travel with. And because the quantity is less, the product will get over soon. So there will be fewer chances of it being contaminated. I’d suggest you keep the bottle tightly shut, try not opening the spray mechanism, keep the bottle in the fridge and finish as soon as you can.

Rose water has phenylethyl alcohol in adequate quantity which makes it self preserving for long (not forever though).

Jeva Pure Rose Water

The spray mechanism is very fine. It sprays very fine droplets so it is best when sprayed directly over face keeping a distance of 1ft. I store my bottle in the fridge so that I can benefit not only with the rose water but also enjoy the cooling effect.

Ingredients: DM water, rose petals and aloevera extract.

Jeva Pure Rose Water

My verdict on Jeva Pure Rose Water Facial Toner:

As per my discussion with Jeva team, they themselves manufacture their rose hydrosols and their rose water is a primary product of steam distillation. It means it is supposed to be more therapeutic and more potent. I’ve used it as it is (as a toner) and also mixed it with various powder face masks/packs. It has worked well in all ways. I will repurchase as it is pretty inexpensive and travel-friendly. If you are stuck in finding a toner, I’d highly suggest you get Jeva Pure Rose Water Facial Toner. You cannot go wrong with a rose water toner, never!

If there is a moisturizer that I’ve been using for more than a year and a half then, you know, it has to be good! I easily get bored with products, but there are a few exceptions and Purity Ultra light moisturizer is one of them. I had purchased this moisturizer in Kuala Lumpur Sephora last year in February and it is still with me. Read on to know what makes this moisturizer so special.

Purity Ultra light moisturizer

Purity Ultra light moisturizer retails for USD25 and we get 141ml product. The price might look a bit steep but then we are getting almost 3 times the regular size. (normally moisturizers come in standard size packaging of 50g)

Availability: Sorry folks, the brand is not available in India. You can check out with Instagram resellers but I am not sure.

People outside India can check this out on the brand’s website here.

Purity Ultra light moisturizer

The texture is very lightweight and somewhat lotion-like. It gets absorbed easily on the skin and leaves a satin finish imparting long-lasting hydration. Purity Ultra light moisturizer can be used both during daytime and night. Hence if you are travelling and need to carry just one moisturizer, then this should be it!

Purity Ultra light moisturizer

Ingredients:

aqua/water/eau, cyclopentasiloxane, bis-peg-18 methyl ether dimethyl silane, glycerin, butylene glycol, butyrospermum parkii (shea) butter, glyceryl stearate, peg-100 stearate, cetearyl alcohol, cetyl alcohol, limnanthes alba (meadowfoam) seed oil, phenoxyethanol, stearic acid, tocopheryl acetate, salvia hispanica seed oil, panthenol, parfum/fragrance, acrylates/c10-30 alkyl acrylate crosspolymer, linalool, bht, ascorbyl glucoside, disodium edta, sodium hydroxide, peg-8, tocopherol, sodium hyaluronate, lecithin, alcohol denat., geraniol, polyglyceryl-3 diisostearate, pantolactone, ascorbyl palmitate, citronellol, camellia sinensis leaf extract, coffea arabica (coffee) seed extract, pongamia pinnata seed extract, benzyl benzoate, limonene, ascorbic acid, angelica archangelica root extract, citrus aurantium amara (bitter orange) peel extract, maltodextrin, citric acid, magnesium aluminum silicate, xanthan gum, caprylyl glycol, sclerotium gum, sorbic acid, fd&c yellow no. 5 (ci 19140), fd&c yellow no. 6 (ci 15985).

The list might look overwhelming with such long list and that’s okay. There are many moisturizing ingredients, humectants, anti-oxidants (Vitamin E derivatives), various extracts & Vitamin C derivatives. In addition to these, please note, it also contains added fragrance, few potential sensitizers and alcohol denat.

I really hope you understand this colour coded system. For eg. moisturizing ingredients are marked in green that means all ingredients that are marked in green in the list are moisturizing in nature.

Purity Ultra light moisturizer

Purity Ultra light moisturizer has a noticeable but pleasant fragrance. It doesn’t linger but you’ll get a clear whiff of it while applying. I use 2 pumps (sometimes 2 and a half) for one-time use. It has been almost a year and a half and I’ve been using this moisturizer on and off* and some of it is still left which will last me 2 more weeks.

*On and off because I have to try other moisturizers in between (life of a beauty blogger) and sometimes I get bored, so I switch to another product (life of a person with an erratic mind, lol).

Purity Ultra light moisturizer

My verdict on Purity Ultra light moisturizer:

If Purity Ultra light moisturizer had to be described in just one word, it would’ve been supercalifragilisticexpialidocious, meaning wonderful. I am really fond of this moisturizer and keep reaching out to it every now and then. This has accompanied me during all my outings last year. It moisturizes well without being greasy and imparts hydration that lasts all day. During cold weather, I made use out of it by applying slightly more. Despite having alcohol denat, it doesn’t feel drying or imparts any tightness upon application. I have oily acne-prone skin which is dehydrated and find it’s consistency to be super apt for my skin type. Never it has clogged my pores or broken me out. In fact, I’ve used it on inflamed skin with active acne and it hasn’t given any kind of sensitivity. I highly recommend this moisturizer and wish the brand launches in India soon!

Meant for ~ all skin types except those having dry/very dry skin.

Not meant for ~ if you can’t tolerate fragrance in your products or are allergic to any of the mentioned sensitizers above.

Concluding my thoughts. I hope you liked the post and if you did, do consider subscribing to my blog. Show some love by liking, sharing and commenting your views/thoughts. Until next time, stay beautiful & keep smiling!

NOTE: Please read the post in landscape mode if you are using mobile.

Chemical exfoliation is much much better than physical exfoliation if done properly (My POV). But let’s not get into that debate today as I am going to share my views on two powerful and effective chemical exfoliants available in the market i.e. PIXI Glow Tonic and Dr Sheth’s Gulab & Glycolic toner.

Glycolic acid is a type of AHA that is derived from sugar cane. It is a water-soluble acid that exfoliates the skin by removing dead skin cells. This increases cell turnover, treats acne and pigmentation and also fights aging.

PIXI Glow Tonic

AHA based toner.

Ingredient in focus ~ Glycolic acid.

Dr. Sheth's Gulab & Glycolic toner

AHA based toner.

Ingredients in focus ~ Glycolic acid & Rose Extracts.

Water/Aqua/Eau, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Glycolic Acid, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Sodium Hydroxide, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Leaf Extract, Aesculus Hippocastanum (Horse Chestnut) Seed Extract, Hexylene Glycol, Fructose, Glucose, Sucrose, Urea, Dextrin, Alanine, Glutamic Acid, Aspartic Acid, Hexyl Nicotinate, Panax Ginseng Root Extract, Ethylhexylglycerin, Disodium EDTA, Biotin, Panthenol, PPG-26-Buteth-26, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Phenoxyethanol, Fragrance (Parfum), Caramel, Red 4 (CI 14700)

Purified Water, Rose Extracts, Glycolic Acid, Wheat And Oat Sugars [Xylitylglucoside, Anhydroxylitol, Xylitol], Coconut Derived Amino Acid Blend [Sodium Cocoyl Amino Acids & Sarcosine & Potassium Aspartate And Magnesium Aspartate], Sodium Hydroxide, Niacinamide, Calendula Extracts, Green Tea Extracts, Allantoin, Aloe Vera Extracts, Hyaluronic Acid, Willow Herb Extracts, Phenoxyethanol, EDTA, Tween 20

It feels more of an astringent on the skin. There’s a mild tingling sensation when applied.

It feels more soothing. There’s no tingling sensation at all.

It caused purging initially. I got a few whiteheads the next day. After a couple of days, they vanished.

There was no purging whatsoever.

Feels really potent right from the first use. It reminds me of The Ordinary 7% Glycolic toning solution.

It feels like a stronger version of rose water.

The texture of my skin improved and my acne started drying.

More effective in treating acne and fading acne marks. My skin looked more clear.

Alcohol-free formula

Alcohol-free formula

Has added fragrance

No added fragrance

Smells of glycolic acid

Has rose dominated fragrance

5% Glycolic acid

5% Glycolic acid

Has a pH of around 4-5

Has a pH of around 4

Your skin must be used to acids. This is potent.

This is going to be great for beginners as well.

Price:

Rs.1250 for 100ml

Rs.2500 for 250ml

Price:

Rs.499 for 50ml

Rs.850 for 100ml

Availability ~ Nykaa & Sephora (nnnow website)

Suitable for all skin types but not fungal acne.

Availability ~ Nykaa & brand website

Suitable for all skin types including those having fungal acne.

My verdict:

My verdict:

This is going to be great who already are used to chemical exfoliation. If you are looking for something powerful then definitely give this a try. I use this 2-3 times a week or when I feel my skin needs some exfoliation.

This is going to be great for those who are newly stepping into chemical exfoliation. This can be used daily as it has many soothing and calming ingredients as well.

All in all, both toners are equally amazing. In the end, it all depends on your skin needs, preference and budget. As far as I am concerned, I’ll be repurchasing the 100ml variant of both PIXI Glow tonic and Dr. Sheth’s Gulab & Glycolic toner.

Looking for other options for glycolic acid toners? I have also reviewed Tvakh Exfoliating water & Plum Green tea toner.

If you have very sensitive skin then please be cautious while using any of these. Always do a patch test before applying a new product all over your face, irrespective of your skin type.

Concluding my thoughts. I hope you liked the post and if you did, do consider subscribing to my blog. Show some love by liking, sharing and commenting your views/thoughts. Until next time, stay beautiful & keep smiling!

People mostly are of the opinion that toners are an additional (and unnecessary) step in a skincare routine and that if you cleanse your face properly with a face wash, you can eliminate toners altogether. But my dear people, this is not the case. I’ll give you more than one reasons why you shouldn’t skip a toner, in addition to sharing my thoughts on Glamaroma Tea Tree Astringent Toner.

Glamaroma Tea Tree Astringent Toner

What is a toner? Why are they used?

Back in the day, toners were mostly astringents and their primary function was to remove the traces of makeup/pollution/excess sebum that were left post using facewash. But they have evolved with time and today they do more than just toning.

Astringents are toning solutions that contain solvent alcohol, witch hazel, vinegar, etc. These are said to be suitable for normal to oily skinned people (without sensitive skin) as they help in getting rid of the excess oil from the skin and tightens pores.

Toners are a milder version of astringents which may or may not contain alcohol. They contain various hydrating ingredients in addition to actives that cater to various skin concerns. Such toners can be used by all skin types including sensitive skinned people as well, depending upon the ingredients used.

Functions of Toners/astringents ~
  • remove leftover traces of makeup/sebum/dirt left after cleansing
  • restore the pH level of the skin after using facewash
  • improve skin’s barrier
  • and perform additional functions like providing a boost of hydration (hydrating toners), providing mild exfoliation by removing dead skin cells and unclogging pores (AHA/BHA), help in soothing and calming the skin (soothing toners)

The first three functions are common across majority toners. The latter is delivered as per their formulation and actives added. There are toners that provide brightening effects, anti-ageing effects, etc. Basically the list is endless.

Glamaroma Tea Tree Astringent Toner

Now that you have understood the role of toners, let’s talk about Glamaroma Tea Tree Astringent Toner. It retails for Rs.499 and we get 100ml product. The expiry is 18 months from the date of manufacturing.

You can purchase the toner from Glamaroma website here. You can use my code BHUMIKA5 for additional 5% off!

Glamaroma Tea Tree Astringent Toner

Glamaroma Tea Tree Astringent Toner comes is a transparent bottle with a spray mechanism which is very convenient. After washing your face and patting it dry, spray some toner on a cotton pad and gently swipe all across your face barring the eye area. Then follow up with a moisturizer. Though the packaging says spray directly onto the face, I wouldn’t advise that as some of it might accidentally go into the eyes. (why take the risk?)

Because the bottle is transparent, it becomes easy to keep a check on how much product is left.

Glamaroma Tea Tree Astringent Toner

Looking at the ingredients itself, you’ll feel how beneficial this toner is going to be. It contains tea tree extract, vitamin c extract, cinnamon extract, ginger extract, glycerin, aloevera extract, witch hazel, neem and tulsi extracts, green tea, rose petals, sodium gluconate (pH modifier), preservatives and tea tree essential oil.

The list if full of ingredients that are acne-treating, soothing and fading acne scars by providing brightening effect.

Glamaroma Tea Tree Astringent Toner

My verdict on Glamaroma Tea Tree Astringent Toner:

Now, this is an amazing find for me. Though I thoroughly enjoy hydrating toners, I also prefer using astringents quite frequently. Glamaroma Tea Tree Astringent Toner is very gentle despite having astringent properties and it did not make my skin dry at all. It helped in treating my acne and also helped in fading their marks. The toner has a pH in the range 5-6 and that is excellent for restoring the skin’s pH after facewash and improving skin barrier. 100% repurchasing this in future as my skin loved it effects.

PROs ~

  • good for people having normal to oily acne-prone skin
  • excellent astringent without alcohol
  • treating acne and blemishes
  • restoring pH of the skin post facewash
  • improving skin barrier
  • budget-friendly
  • vegan, cruelty-free, Indian brand, natural extracts

If you have very sensitive skin that reacts to witch hazel or essential oils, please stay away from this toner. Always do a patch test before applying a new product all over your face.

Concluding my thoughts. I hope you liked the post and if you did, do consider subscribing to my blog. Show some love by liking, sharing and commenting your views/thoughts. Until next time, stay beautiful & keep smiling!

It is difficult to find that perfect sunscreen which suits your skin type & the weather and sits well under makeup. Hence, many beauty lovers are always doing trial and errors with various sunscreens just to come across that perfect one! Today I have taken one sunscreen out from that list of your’s so that you try one product less. Read my thoughts on St. Botanica Vitamin C Sunscreen and decide whether it is worth your trial or not.

St. Botanica Vitamin C Sunscreen

Price: Rs.799 for 120ml. It has a shelf life of 24 months and needs to be finished within 12 months after opening the bottle.

It looks expensive but let’s do some math first. Most sunscreens come in 50g packaging and range from 400-600Rs. So basically you are getting more than double the quantity at a slightly higher price. And if you look for offers (which you will get, mostly) the price becomes cheaper!

St. Botanica Vitamin C Sunscreen

Availability:

Nykaa: https://nyk0.page.link/kJLgh9At723BfErJ6

Amazon: https://amzn.to/3g8U3vQ

and many other e-commerce sites. I am not sure whether it is available in stores or not, let me know in the comments.

St. Botanica Vitamin C Sunscreen

St. Botanica Vitamin C Sunscreen has a calamine lotion-like consistency. It is light weight and applies on the skin without imparting a white cast. The sunscreen gets absorbed rendering a soft glowy skin. It sits well under makeup too.

The fragrance of St. Botanica Vitamin C Sunscreen is very citrusy and fresh. I personally like it.

St. Botanica Vitamin C Sunscreen

Active ingredients as mentioned by the brand:

Organic Olivem 1000, Glycerin, Cypress Essential Oil, Borage Cold Pressed Oil, Lemon Peel Essential Oil, Licorice Extract, Amla Fruit Extract, Orange Peel Extract, Tamarind Seed Extract, Saffron Extract, Turmeric Extract, Rose Flower Extract, Sandalwood Extract, Zinc Oxide.

As we can see there are a couple of essential oils which impart the citrusy fragrance. There are many extracts that provide brightening, skin soothing, healing, inflammatory and antioxidant properties. For a complete ingredient list, please refer to the picture.
Sunscreen ingredients: Ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate, avobenzone, Titanium Dioxide & Zinc Oxide
St. Botanica Vitamin C Sunscreen
I know many of you’ll ask me whether it is safe to use Vitamin C during the daytime. I’d say yes and in conjunction with a sunscreen. Vitamin C used here is in the form of 3-O-ethyl ascorbic acid which is a very stable form. It, in fact, protects the skin from UVB damage in addition to having brightening and anti-ageing properties.
How to use? Apply after moisturizing all over the face and neck, specially 15-20 minutes before stepping out in the sun. Reapply every 2 hours or so. I’ve used it on body too and it works perfectly fine. This doesn’t feel heavy at all nor makes my hands look greasy.
St. Botanica Vitamin C Sunscreen

My verdict on St. Botanica Vitamin C Sunscreen:

Though the brand claims it is mineral-based, it contains chemical sunscreen ingredients too. You can call it a hybrid type sunscreen and generally such sunscreens cater to all kinds of skin types. This has worked for me during both dry winter and humid summer times. I usually apply compact powder on a daily basis hence I can get away with the shine. This is a broad spectrum sunscreen hence it provides protection from both UVA and UVB rays. It doesn’t feel heavy or will make you sweat more. According to me, it will work best for oily, normal and dry skin types in conjunction with a moisturizer. If you have super oily skin you can get away just with this suncreen. For reference, I have dehydrated oily skin which is acne-prone and this hasn’t irritated it even once.

Sharing with y’all my most favourite Vitamin C serum of all times! I have tried quite a few in the past and liked some of them, but this is by far the best consistency and it showed results almost within a week! Sounds too good to be true, hai naa!! Penning down my two cents on Pure Bubbles Vitamin C Brightening Skin Drops.

Pure Bubbles Vitamin C Brightening Skin Drops

Price: Rs.990 for 30ml. It has an expiry of 18 months.

Bhawana is the founder of the brand Pure Bubbles. She makes the formulations herself and is happy to suggest you products based on your skin type and concerns. You can get in touch with her on her Instagram page @pure_bubbles_soapery.

Pure Bubbles Vitamin C Brightening Skin Drops

Ingredients:

Pure Bubbles Vitamin C Brightening Skin Drops contains Ethyl Ascorbic acid which is stable and has excellent brightening properties. Because it is stable, the packaging need not be black and the product won’t oxidise too (will not turn yellow).

There are some amazing ingredients in addition to Vitamin C like Centella Asiatica extract, Glycerin, Green tea extract, Rapeseed oil, Licorice root extract, Rice bran extract, Hyaluronic acid, Europea leaf extract & Bergamia EO.

Pure Bubbles Vitamin C Brightening Skin Drops

Pure Bubbles Vitamin C Brightening Skin Drops has a very liquidy consistency, almost like a milky water. The dropper packaging in which it comes is perfect for the runny product. You’ll need 4-5 drops for one-time use, to apply over the entire face.

Pure Bubbles Vitamin C Brightening Skin Drops

Applying instructions:

This is a serum, hence needs to be applied after washing the face and applying toner. And after applying, follow it up with a moisturizer. Use sunscreen during the daytime. (Whether you apply any actives or not, it is very essential to apply sunscreen every single day).

Pure Bubbles Vitamin C Brightening Skin Drops

My verdict on Pure Bubbles Vitamin C Brightening Skin Drops:

This serum feels almost like water but with slightly moisturizing properties. One of the best things about this is the signature centella asiatica fragrance (earthy and sweet), I totally love it. The serum gets absorbed almost instantly and hence is perfect for layering skincare products during daytime under makeup. Like I mentioned, I saw results in a week! My husband pointed out that my skin looked brightened and it looked slightly less textured and glowy. If your husband compliments your skin, Man! you have to take it seriously! 😉 This didn’t irritate my skin or aggravate the acne. Instead, it got rid of mild acne marks and helped in making my skin look evener.

I am almost out of Pure Bubbles Vitamin C Brightening Skin Drops after 2 months of constant usage. This is definitely coming back to my shelves. I highly recommend you try out the serum and experience the results yourself. I am also eyeing the Niacinamide Pore refining serum! Have you tried it yet?

Concluding my thoughts. I hope you liked my review and if you did, do consider subscribing to my blog. Show some love by liking, sharing and commenting your views/thoughts. Until next time, stay beautiful & keep smiling!

For years, my favourite compact was Lakme 9 to 5 Primer + Matte powder foundation and I had never thought I’d try any other product. But then, one fine day, Myntra came up with amazing offer on Kiko Milano products (up to 35% offer). Apparently, I couldn’t resist and purchased the much raved Kiko Milano Matte Fusion Pressed powder. I’ve finally penned down my thoughts after using it for more than 3 months.

Kiko Milano Matte Fusion Pressed powder

Price: The pressed powder retails for Rs.1250 and we get 12g product. (usually compacts come with 9g product, so we are getting slightly more here).

There are 6 shades to choose from. Ideally, this is not the most versatile range but I am in the very second shade (02 Tan). Hence I am presuming that the shade range caters to deeper skin tones as well.

For reference, I am NC 40 in MAC, Classic Tan in NYX total drop control foundation, Natural light in Lakme 9 to 5 primer matte powder foundation, 300 in Fenty Beauty Pro Filter Foundation & 2.1Y in The Ordinary foundations. My skintype is oily-dehydrated and acne prone.

Kiko Milano Matte Fusion Pressed powder

Availability: Kiko Milano products are available on all e-commerce websites and in their stores across selected cities.

Kiko Milano Matte Fusion Pressed powder

The packaging looks both classy and beautiful. It is sturdy, minimalist, comes with an inbuilt mirror and a sponge. The sponge is also of good quality, not useless like you get with most other compact powders. However, I prefer to use a dense brush to apply the powder.

Kiko Milano Matte Fusion Pressed powder

Kiko Milano Matte Fusion Pressed powder is finely milled and provides a smooth and even finish. The particles aren’t so fine that it becomes a finishing powder with no coverage, but at the same time, the particles aren’t that coarse that it imparts a cakey look. It does provide (a little over) decent coverage and gives matte (but not flat) look.

Kiko Milano Matte Fusion Pressed powder

This will not be ideal for setting concealer under the eyes, though it mainly depends upon which concealer are you using. Anyway, this is still not my preference for setting concealers (only under the eyes).

It contains argan oil which is responsible for that creamy touch and smooth finish.

Kiko Milano Matte Fusion Pressed powder

My verdict on Kiko Milano Matte Fusion Pressed powder:

This powder can be used both for setting foundation and also on its own. Trust me, Kiko Milano Matte Fusion Pressed powder made me shun all my foundations. I just use this and my base is done. Most of the times, I don’t even use a concealer under the eyes. The coverage provided by Kiko Milano Matte Fusion Pressed powder is enough to cover my mild dark circles. It prevents my skin from getting oily for up to 4 hours after which I blot with a paper napkin and it stays good for another 3-4 hours. Hence, it makes it ideal for everyday office wear. It doesn’t cling to dry patches but I’d recommend moisturizing properly before using any kind of base product. At present, I am not using any foundation at all and totally relying on this for my base makeup.

I’ll definitely repurchase this as soon as I find an offer somewhere. I’ve given a demo of this in a youtube video above. Do check it out if you are willing to see the Kiko Milano Matte Fusion Pressed powder in action.

Concluding my thoughts. I hope you liked my review and if you did, do consider subscribing to my blog. Show some love by liking, sharing and commenting your views/thoughts. Until next time, stay beautiful & keep smiling!

It is very tricky to find that perfect moisturizer which suits your requirements and your skin type! Hence, I always keep trying a hell lot of them. I had received The Faceshop Dr. Belmeur sample in a kbeauty purchase and was pretty impressed by it. Hence when the range launched on Nykaa, I had to get at least one product for myself. So I picked The Faceshop Dr. Belmeur Clarifying Moisturizer. Continue reading to know more about the moisturizer.

The Faceshop Dr. Belmeur

Price: Rs.1800 for 120ml. I know the price is steep but wait for offers and discounts. I got this at a great discount from Nykaa, around Rs. 1200 or so. The product needs to be used up within 12 months of opening the tube.

Availability: All major e-commerce sites. You can check out the entire range here. (toner, ampoule, cleanser, patch kit)

The Faceshop Dr. Belmeur

Dr. Belmeur is a gentle Derma Cosmetics solutions that uses mild plant-based ingredients + low irritant formula recommended by skin experts tailored for different skin types to achieve beautiful, healty skin that feels great. Dr. Belmeur line uses Skin Sync formula that comes very close to our skin cell structure, which will be easily accepted by skin.”

The Clarifying line is specifically meant for oily-acne prone skin while the Daily repair line caters to dry-dull skin.

The Faceshop Dr. Belmeur

Ingredients:

The ingredient-list is pretty long and you can analyze all of them here. Mentioning a few noteworthy ingredients below:

Glycerin (humectant), Panthenol (soothing), Citrus extract (anti-oxidant), Niacinamide (regulates oil production, treats hyperpigmentation, fights aging), Shea butter (moisturizing), along with lots of flower extracts and essential oils.

There is tea tree oil as well (last in the list) which works amazingly in fighting acne and keeping them at bay. The fragrance is a milder version of tea tree which I like.

The Faceshop Dr. Belmeur

The texture of The Faceshop Dr. Belmeur Clarifying moisturizer is very light, gel-like and instantly melts into the skin. It provides intense nourishment without making the skin greasy or oily. Mind it, it is not a mattifying product but is an excellent choice for oily skin types. It imparts a perfect amount of sheen which gives the skin a healthy glow.

How to apply: Use it as a regular moisturizer be it day or night. The steps should be like this: facewash ~ toner ~ The Faceshop Dr. Belmeur Clarifying moisturizer. As this product contains many essential oils, never apply it near the eye socket area. The essential oils might irritate the delicate skin over there.

The Faceshop Dr. Belmeur

My verdict on The Faceshop Dr. Belmeur Clarifying moisturizer:

Many people already claim that this is a dupe for many high end gel based/aqua moisturizers. No wonder, this has become my holy grail product. I usually keep my night routine different but there are times when I’ve used this moisturizer day in and out. It really helps in fighting the acne and keeping them at bay with regular use. I usually get bigger acne during periods but with the regular use of this, their size has significantly reduced. I don’t see any effect on pigmentation as such but for oily & acne-prone skin, this moisturizer is definitely a must try! Also, did I mention that this moisturizer sits well under makeup too. I’ve been using it for more than 3 months and still one-third of it is still left.

There are a couple of cons which can’t be ignored:

  • As it has a lot of essential oils, might not be suitable for sensitive skin.
  • I wish dimethicone were replaced with some bio-friendly ingredient.

Concluding my thoughts. I hope you liked my review and if you did, do consider subscribing to my blog. Show some love by liking, sharing and commenting your views/thoughts. Until next time, stay beautiful & keep smiling!

The Body Shop was in news (in beauty community) recently because of their newly launched Shea butter range. Why? Not only Shea butter is an amazing ingredient but they are sourcing it from Ghana, providing empowerment and employment to 640 women over there. Everyone around me has been loving their products and, I highly intrigued, purchased shampoo & conditioner. After using The Body Shop Shea Butter range for 2 months, I am finally sharing my thoughts on it.

The Body Shop Shea Butter

Price: Both the shampoo & conditioner retail for Rs. 645 each. The bottles are of 250 ml with a shelf life of 32 months. However, the product needs to be finished within 12 months of opening the bottle.

Availability: There are many TBS outlets all across India. You also get their products online on their website as well as on Nykaa.

If you are willing to purchase online, you can get The Body Shop Shea Butter range here.

The Body Shop Shea Butter Richly Replenishing Shampoo:

The Body Shop Shea Butter

The shampoo has a runnier consistency. It is free from SLS/SLeS and smells heavenly (nutty fragrance). This doesn’t create rich lather but it lathers good enough to clean the scalp and hair. You’ll need slightly more product than a conventional shampoo though. The packaging is apt and can be conveniently used with wet hands in the shower.

The Body Shop Shea Butter Richly Replenishing Conditioner:

The Body Shop Shea Butter

The conditioner is slightly runny for a conditioner but it does the job. It makes my hair soft and nourishes them. I have pretty dry ends and it keeps them nourished for a longer period of time. This too doesn’t weigh down my hair at all. I apply this on hair and not on the scalp and keep it for good 10 minutes, if not more, before rinsing. (conditioners are meant to be used that way only)

The Body Shop Shea Butter
Left: Shampoo | Right: Conditioner

Both, the shampoo & conditioner, are free from sulphates, silicones and parabens. The main ingredient “Shea butter” is also not one of the last ingredients (thank God!). In the shampoo, it lies in the middle of the ingredient list whereas, in the conditioner, it is the very fourth ingredient. Also, The Body Shop is a cruelty-free brand.

The Body Shop Shea Butter
Left: Shampoo | Right: Conditioner

My verdict on The Body Shop Shea Butter range:

My natural hair type is wavy and somewhat frizzy and currently smoothened. The smoothened part is fine but the new hair growth is going back to my natural texture. This doesn’t help that much with the frizz but it does make my hair soft, manageable and effectively cleanses the scalp. My scalp didn’t turn flaky or itchy, in fact, it felt balanced (neither too oily nor dry). I usually shampoo twice a week and with that frequency, the shampoo lasted me for 2 months while the conditioner is still left. Though these are pretty much justified for the price point, I really wish we got a little more quantity. I highly suggest you try this range out, at least once. I am definitely repurchasing both of these and looking forward to trying more products from this range.

Concluding my thoughts. I hope you liked my review and if you did, do consider subscribing to my blog. Show some love by liking, sharing and commenting your views/thoughts. Until next time, stay beautiful & keep smiling!
