Kiko Milano Matte Fusion Pressed Powder | Review

For years, my favourite compact was Lakme 9 to 5 Primer + Matte powder foundation and I had never thought I’d try any other product. But then, one fine day, Myntra came up with amazing offer on Kiko Milano products (up to 35% offer). Apparently, I couldn’t resist and purchased the much raved Kiko Milano Matte Fusion Pressed powder. I’ve finally penned down my thoughts after using it for more than 3 months.

Price: The pressed powder retails for Rs.1250 and we get 12g product. (usually compacts come with 9g product, so we are getting slightly more here).

There are 6 shades to choose from. Ideally, this is not the most versatile range but I am in the very second shade (02 Tan). Hence I am presuming that the shade range caters to deeper skin tones as well.

For reference, I am NC 40 in MAC, Classic Tan in NYX total drop control foundation, Natural light in Lakme 9 to 5 primer matte powder foundation, 300 in Fenty Beauty Pro Filter Foundation & 2.1Y in The Ordinary foundations. My skintype is oily-dehydrated and acne prone.

Kiko Milano Matte Fusion Pressed powder

The packaging looks both classy and beautiful. It is sturdy, minimalist, comes with an inbuilt mirror and a sponge. The sponge is also of good quality, not useless like you get with most other compact powders. However, I prefer to use a dense brush to apply the powder.

Kiko Milano Matte Fusion Pressed powder is finely milled and provides a smooth and even finish. The particles aren’t so fine that it becomes a finishing powder with no coverage, but at the same time, the particles aren’t that coarse that it imparts a cakey look. It does provide (a little over) decent coverage and gives matte (but not flat) look.

This will not be ideal for setting concealer under the eyes, though it mainly depends upon which concealer are you using. Anyway, this is still not my preference for setting concealers (only under the eyes).

It contains argan oil which is responsible for that creamy touch and smooth finish.

My verdict on Kiko Milano Matte Fusion Pressed powder:

This powder can be used both for setting foundation and also on its own. Trust me, Kiko Milano Matte Fusion Pressed powder made me shun all my foundations. I just use this and my base is done. Most of the times, I don’t even use a concealer under the eyes. The coverage provided by Kiko Milano Matte Fusion Pressed powder is enough to cover my mild dark circles. It prevents my skin from getting oily for up to 4 hours after which I blot with a paper napkin and it stays good for another 3-4 hours. Hence, it makes it ideal for everyday office wear. It doesn’t cling to dry patches but I’d recommend moisturizing properly before using any kind of base product. At present, I am not using any foundation at all and totally relying on this for my base makeup.

I’ll definitely repurchase this as soon as I find an offer somewhere. I’ve given a demo of this in a youtube video above. Do check it out if you are willing to see the Kiko Milano Matte Fusion Pressed powder in action.
