Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner | Review

Hello! People. Today I shall be sharing my thoughts on Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner. Some products are cult-favourite and this one too is one of them (and all for the right reasons). Let me give you the reasons so as to what makes it such a hyped-up product.

Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner

I am so glad that Klairs is finally launched in India (officially) on Nykaa.com. Also, many Insta resellers stock their products at a reasonable price. I got mine from Nykaa a few months back.

Price: Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner retails for Rs.1430 and we get 180ml product. It has a shelf life of 3 years and needs to be finished in 12 months once the bottle is opened.

It comes in a dark plastic bottle with a little opening. The packaging is apt for this kind of texture and is travel-friendly and spill-proof. It has a bearable fragrance which reminds me of fennel seeds (saunf).

The texture of it is like thick water (literally!). I take a few drops of it on a cotton pad and swipe it across my face. This step should be done after using a facewash/facial cleanser.

This can also be used in seven-step method wherein you take a small quantity on your palm and pat it over your face ~ repeat 7 times. Or lesser, as per your will!

The ingredient list is pretty long, the second half of which mostly comprises of essential oils. (If your skin reacts to essential oils then please do a patch test before applying it directly on your face.) Few notable ingredients are:

Centella Asiatica extract: has soothing, moisturizing and calming properties. Really good for troubled skin.

Beta glucan: They are natural cell wall polysaccharides found in yeast, fungi (including mushrooms), some bacteria, seaweeds and cereals consisting of moisturizing, healing & antioxidant properties. (This was a new ingredient for me!) (1)

Sodium Hyaluronate: Who doesn’t know this amazing ingredient?? It provides intense hydration by retaining moisture and preventing water loss. It keeps the skin plump and soft.

Lipidure: Helps in keeping skin smooth, protects it from damage and retains moisture levels. (2)

Apart from these, there is Aloevera extract, Licorice root extract, Panthenol and few essential oils.

My verdict on Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner:

My feelings in a nutshell: I bought this with a lot of expectations ~ started using it ~ after a couple of weeks I felt this wasn’t doing anything for my skin ~ stopped using it ~ within a few days my skin just wasn’t at its best ~ despite using the exact same routine (minus the toner) my skin felt dry ~ I immediately realized the importance of Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner and added it back to my routine ~ now my skin is happy!

Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner not only does the job of a toner perfectly, i.e. removing residual makeup, but also provides immense hydration. It perfectly balances the pH level of the skin and eliminates the dry feeling, if any, post washing the face. I wait for this to get absorbed (say a couple of minutes) before proceeding with my PM routine. I have dehydrated oily skin and it provides the perfect amount of moisture without giving that heavy feeling. My skin hasn’t reacted to it even a bit neither it has caused any breakouts.

I am really happy with my purchase and would recommend Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner to all those who aren’t sensitive to essential oils. Others can try the unscented version of it! It’s already in my wishlist.
