Gharsoaps Walnut Soap | Review

I have been a shower gel person for quite some time now. But then I started receiving collab offers for soaps, so I had to come back to using them. Today I shall be talking about Gharsoaps ~ an Indian brand that has a collection of a variety of soaps to offer. Continue reading to know my thoughts on Gharsoaps Walnut soap after having used it for 3 weeks.

Price: Rs.600 for a bar of soap. Okay okay, I know the price is exorbitant just for a bar! Let me share that the soaps are usually at a discount of 50%. Feeling relieved? No! Let me help you a little, use code “BHUMIKA20” for a further discount of 20% on their website. (I bet you are happy now)

The soaps are available only on their website gharsoaps.in. You can check out this particular variant of Walnut soap here.

The brand:

Something is just not correct with the brand website. There are a couple grammatical mistakes, the About Us section is missing and there’s no proper introduction to the brand or its origin. Also, the unacceptable prices of their soaps! It would have been better if they had priced their soaps at lower rate rather than keeping the price high and then giving 50% off.

Also honestly, I wasn’t excited when I received the Walnut soap in PR. Why? I had checked out their entire range and there are more attractive and colourful soaps than the walnut soap. But right from day one, this soap didn’t fail to impress me!

The top part (brown) has exfoliating particles made from walnut which helps in exfoliation. The bottom part (cream) feels moisturizing and resembles a traditional soap. There are few granules at the bottom as seen in the above picture.

One can call it a scrubbing soap which helps in both cleansing and exfoliation. The scrub particles flow to the bottom as you glide the soap on your body and provides mild exfoliation. I’d suggest you always hold the soap with the cream part facing towards the body as the brown part is going to be harsh when used on its own. Do take a look at the above picture to see the exfoliating particles.

My verdict on Gharsoaps Walnut soap:

The above picture shows current situation of my soap (I’ve been using it for 3 weeks now). Initially I was worried that in the end, only the exfoliating portion will remain but no! somehow the soap lessened in equal proportions from both the sides. I love how this soap cleanses and exfoliates (helps in removing dead skin cells) at the same time. I don’t miss using my loofah at all. The bar is pretty solid and doesn’t become soggy after use. There is a mild fragrance which doesn’t linger. My skin feels cleansed and refreshed and this is exactly what a soap is supposed to do! The brand does claim of reducing the pore size of the skin in addition to lightening body scars and blemishes but I didn’t experience any such result.

All in all, I really loved my experience with Gharsoaps Walnut soap and recommend you try out at least one variant from the brand. There’s a red clay confetti soap that I am eyeing next!

P.S. Their soaps are free from SLS and Parabens.
