Don’t you hate it when brands take almost a year to bring their new launches to India? I do! My patience had already run out and was looking ways to get my hands on Maybelline SuperStay Crayon Lipsticks from some international website. But then to my surprise, while browsing Nykaa during the Pink Friday sale, I came across these! I know I had to get as many shades as possible to share with you guys. If you are as excited about this new launch as I am, then keep on reading.

Price: Rs.599 and we get 1.2g product. It comes with an expiry of 36 months.

Shades: There are a total of 12 shades in the range but as on date, only 7 shades are available on Nykaa.I got those 5 shades which according to me would suit medium skinned people. (like myself!)

The shades I purchased:

05 Live On Edge ~ beautiful brown with the slightest hint of brick-red ~ universally flattering shade

20 Enjoy The View ~ gorgeous peachy brownish shade~ will suit fair to medium skintones and slightly beyond (up to NC42 or so).

45 Hustle in Heels ~ muted red with slight pinkish/orangish tones ~ will suit all skintones

50 Own You Empire ~ classic red (slightly blue-toned) ~ universally flattering shade

55 Make It Happen ~ a stunning burgundy shade which doesn’t look over the top ~ will suit all skintones, especially medium to dark.

Packaging: It comes in a retractable crayon form which I absolutely like. Also, there is a sharpener attached at the bottom of the crayon which helps to get precise lining on the lips. The crayon is colour coded hence it becomes easy to distinguish the shades.

Texture: Maybelline SuperStay Crayon Lipsticks have a creamy texture which glides on smoothly on the lips without tugging or pulling. These impart demi-matte finish with beautiful colour payoff. Apart from the shade 45 Hustle in Heels, all the shades are very pigmented and provide full coverage. 45 is lesser pigmented when compared to the rest.

My verdict on Maybelline SuperStay Crayon Lipsticks:

I have been using these lipsticks for a week now and I am super impressed by them! These look matte but are very comfortable and don’t feel drying with the passage of time. Maybelline SuperStay Crayon Lipsticks aren’t transferproof but despite the transfer, the colour looks intact on the lips and doesn’t look uneven. These crayons easily stayed for 6-7 hours on me after which they started to fade, evenly. If you’ll have oily-greasy food like soup or noodles then these will fade earlier else for dal-chawal-roti, these pretty much stay put as is. (Shade no. 45 Hustle In Heels stays for a little less time on me.) I highly recommend you get at least one lipstick from this range.

If you are a lipstick lover, there’s no need for recommendations and I am pretty sure you are definitely going to get these! Also, at present, I am tanned and my current skintone is a couple shades darker than my actual skintone. Please keep that in mind.
