The serum comes in a amber glass bottle which is perfect for products containing Vitamin C. It helps in protecting the product from sunlight and thus prevents oxidization. Despite being a glass bottle, the packaging is pretty travel-friendly and spill-proof. Also, the bottle is so cute!Glamaroma Vitamin C serum

Ingredients:

Ethyl ascorbic acid, Sodium Hyaluronate, Amla extract, Bearberry extract, Licorice extract, Mulberry extract, Black pepper extract, Glycerine, Aqua, Preservative.

Vitamin C is L-ascorbic acid and is supposed to be the most effective in this form. But it is highly unstable, breaks down easily, oxidizes easily with slightest exposure to sunlight and becomes ineffective. It also has the tendency to cause reactions and irritation to the skin. Hence a Vitamin C derivative should be able to overcome the disadvantages of L-ascorbic acid while still be able to release enough vitamin C (L-ascorbic acid) into the skin cells for increasing collagen synthesis. Hence comes into picture Ethyl Ascorbic acid (EAA).

EAA can be considered as the next generation Vitamin C derivative. It is highly stable, non-irritating, has good penetration and has conversion rate of over 80% to L-ascorbic acid making it the most effective form of Vitamin C.

In addition, there are other amazing ingredients like~

Sodium Hyaluronate: a humectant ~ provides immense hydration

Amla, bearberry, mulberry extracts: anti-oxidants which help in fading skin pigmentation

Licorice extract: helps in skin brightening

Black pepper extract: provides anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties in addition to being rich in anti-oxidants.

Niacinamide: though not mentioned on the packaging, the serum does contain Niacinamide which helps in fading skin pigmentation, managing sebum production and fights aging. (confirmed with the brand)

Glamaroma Vitamin C serum

Glamaroma Vitamin C serum has water like consistency which is slightly thicker and slimy. The serum applies so smoothly on the skin (thanks to hyaluronic acid) and absorbs within no time. You can easily layer this serum under moisturizer without adding any kind of heaviness or oiliness.

I love the fragrance which is powdery citrusy and very pleasant. Surprisingly, there is no added fragrance in the ingredient list.

How to use?

Not just this serum, but any product containing Hyaluronic acid must be applied on moist skin (not dripping wet). That way the moisture will get locked as HA helps in retaining moisture in the skin. Don’t let the serum to get absorbed fully because then, your skin might tend to feel dry. So while the serum is somewhat absorbed but is still there on your face, follow up with a moisturizer.

The steps should look something like this :

Face wash ~ toner ~ Glamaroma Vitamin C serum ~ moisturizer

My verdict on Glamaroma Vitamin C serum:

I have been using this serum consistently for 6 weeks and yes, I have obtained pretty noticeable results. Though this serum can be used both during day and night time, I’ve loved using it in my AM routine. My skin feels clear, looks a lot more healthy & the pigmentation has faded considerably. This little bottle should last you around 2 months when used daily (one time a day).

I might have gotten quicker results because I used this serum in conjunction with another product. My skin cleared up and the texture was gone, like I almost had a filter ON! Will share the combo in my Instagram post so make sure to follow me there. (to follow me on Instagram, click here)
