Loreal Serie Expert Gold Quinoa + Protein Shampoo and Mask | Review

I have been using Loreal Xtenso range for the longest time because my hair is chemically treated and I had to use a specific set of products. But now more than 50% of my hair are new growth, I needed something that suits my original hair type as well (which is wavy and frizzy). Loreal Serie Expert Gold Quinoa + Protein range looked quite intriguing to me so I decided to give it try. And honestly speaking, I am about to finish the second bottle of the shampoo. I am sharing my thoughts after using the range for a good amount of time.

Loreal Serie Expert Gold Quinoa + Protein

Loreal Serie Expert Gold Quinoa + Protein shampoo retails for Rs.665 and we get 300ml product. The shampoo has tiny gold coloured flakes in it and it looks beautiful and fancy. Don’t worry the glitter doesn’t deposit anywhere on the body (neither while shampoo-ing nor post shampoo).

The formula is infused with Gold Quinoa bran extract & Wheat protein which helps in nourishing the hair and adds softness and shine. It has a noticeable fragrance which is not too strong and lingers for some time even after drying the hair.

Loreal Serie Expert Gold Quinoa + Protein masque retails for Rs. 780 and we get 250ml product. The hair mask is very nourishing and smells like the shampoo, just a bit more intense. It’s the kind of fragrance that you get in salons.

The texture of the hair mask is quite thick but doesn’t feel heavy or oily. You don’t need much, I use 2 small scoops for my medium length hair. Though it is a hair mask, it’s usage instructions resemble that of a conditioner. You need not keep it for hours to see the results, keep it on for 2-3 minutes (just like a conditioner) and rinse it off.

How to use?

Wet your hair, take some shampoo on your palm, rub slightly to make foam, then start massaging on the hair length and scalp. ash if off thoroughly with water. Then drain out excess water from the hair, take a scoop of hair mask and apply generously on the hair strands (not on the scalp) and leave it on for 2-3 minutes (or as long as you can keep). After that, you can rinse it off until the water runs clear (no foaming).

Always wash your hair upside down. This will also help in preventing backne and bumne (acne on back and bums). Many people suffer from them and not shampooing the correct way is the simple reason behind it.

My verdict on Loreal Serie Expert Gold Quinoa + Protein hair combo:

My hair is not just chemically treated, a majority part of it is original growth. So I need something which keeps the treated hair smooth and my original hair shiny and reduces frizz. This combo meets my expectations to the fullest. My hair feels nourished, soft, shiny and the frizz is managed to a great extent. The shampoo lathers well and cleanses effortlessly even when the hair is oiled. The shampoo lasts me one month and a half while the mask lasts me 2-2.5 months (I wash my hair twice a week). I prefer hair mask over conditioners as the former is more nourishing. I’d highly recommend you guys try out this combo.

Suitable for ~ dry, dull, damaged virgin hair (if you tend to use heat on your hair, style them using  a blow dryer and other tools, stay out in the sun and streets without covering your hair ~ then consider that your hair are mostly damaged)

Not suitable for ~ if you have done any kind of chemical treatment on your hair (straightening, smoothening, colouring, perming, keratin, etc) in the past than 4-5 months then this combo is not meant for you. Always use the products as recommended by your stylist for the first 4-5 months to get maximum benefits from the hair treatment. Also, if you dislike silicones then stay away from this combo.

Please don’t confuse this range with LIPIDIUM range as the packaging and colour resemble A LOT.
