Cheapest Lipsticks Review | NYBae | Are they worth?

I’ve watched so many videos and read so many reviews on NYbae lipsticks that I was highly intrigued. I couldn’t resist but get my hands on 10 of their lipsticks (bullet ones) and try them. My main aim was to judge them (because they are dirt cheap) and check how their efficacy was. Also, I really wanted to confirm whether these are worthy of all the praises that they’ve received in the market?

NYBae

Super Matte Lipsticks:

NYBae Super Matte Lipstick retails for Rs.149 and we get 4.2g product. However, I got them for Rs.75 each. They come as it is, no outer packaging, wrapped in plastic coating. These look and feel very cheap. I got 5 shades and all have a different formula, none of which is super matte. The colour payoff is also not great, I had to swipe almost all of them 4-5 times to get the colour on my lips.

Shades:
  • Passionate Pamela 12: pinkish nude shade, slightly streaky, accentuates lines and dry lips
  • Marvellous Michella 19: maroonish shade, comparatively pigmented, creamier, glides easily
  • Worthy Wendy 22: light pink shade, barely pigmented, needed most number of swipes
  • Hot Hazel 23: pinkish mauve, again needed more swipes for the colour to show
  • Feral Fabiana 24: red shade, comparatively pigmented, creamier, glides easily

12 and 22 will suit fair to medium skintones while 19,23 and 24 will flatter all skintones.

Runway Lipstick with Argan oil:

NYBae Runaway Lipstick with Argan oil retails for Rs.175 and we get 4.8g product. However, I got them for Rs.88 each. These do come with outer cardboard packaging. The bullet looks golden shiny and nice from a distance but in the hands, it looks cheap. This range is more pigmented than the Super Matte Lipsticks and is comparatively more matte as well.

Shades:
  • Statement 10: Deep maroon shade, matte version of Super Matte 19
  • Featured Look 13: mauve with purple tones, has good pigmentation
  • Lit 17: bright red with very slight pink tones, my favourite out of the lot
  • Rehearsal Look 19: pinkish peachy brown, beautiful nude shade, slightly patchy
  • Stagewear 20: pinky nude, slightly streaky

Shades 10,13,17 are universally flattering while 19 will suit fair to medium skintones and 20 will suit only fair skintones.

NYBae lipsticks are exclusively available on Purplle.com.

Below are the swatches for both the ranges:

My verdict on NYBae lipsticks:

To be honest, there were no expectations at all. I just wanted them to be decent and provide some colour to my lips. Yet I am not impressed by NYBae lipsticks. From packaging to formula to pigmentation, all are below average. The shades are also quite similar to one another. There are different formulas in the same range. The Super Matte lipsticks have vanilla fragrance while the Runway lipsticks have some chemical scent to them. The staying power is 4-5 hours on an average. Darker shades stay longer while the lighter ones fade away faster. All of the shades are comfortable and do not feel drying.

The worst part? 4-5 out of 10 lipsticks aren’t aesthetically pleasing, some have white dots on them while some aren’t cut nicely, others have uneven texture along with water droplets. I just don’t feel comfortable using them. Attaching the pictures below for you to have a look. But that’s just my POV, if you fine with all this and still want to use these, go ahead! There are many people who are loving these lipsticks and I am cool with that.
