Pyunkang Yul | Review

I was introduced to the brand Pyunkang Yul by Renée (Gothamista) and almost at the same time I found an amazing deal on their products on StyleKorean. There was no reason to resist and without having any second thoughts, I ordered the trio. After using these for more than 6 months, I am finally penning down my thoughts.Pyunkang Yul

Pyunkang Yul products are available on Jolse.com and Stylekorean.com. (Click on the website name and it will take you to the brand products)

Pyunkang Yul Essence Toner (USD 13.00 for 100ml):

Pyunkang Yul

Ingredients: Astragalus membranaceus root extract, 1,2-hexanediol, butylene glycol, bis-peg-18 methyl ether dimethyl silane, hydroxyethylcellulose, carbomer, arginine. For a detailed analysis of the ingredients, please visit skincarisma.com. (clickable link)

Formulated with just 6 ingredients, this toner is pretty minimalist and hydrating. It provides that burst of hydration without that heavy feeling. There is no added fragrance but it smells like freshly cut cucumbers (to me!).

Pyunkang Yul Essence Toner is water-like but thick water. It can be applied by both hands or a cotton pad after using a facewash. It gets absorbed easily into the skin and because of that, I used it during morning routine as I want my face to be more matte. This can be layered easily with hydrating products. It will suit all skin types, including sensitive ones.

Pyunkang Yul Moisture Serum (USD 23.00 for 100ml):

The fragrance is like the essence toner, just a little sweeter.

Pyunkang Yul

Pyunkang Yul moisture serum has a very light, runny lotion-like consistency. The dropper packaging which it comes in is perfect for this type of texture. I take 4-5 drops for one-time use.

The serum provides intense hydration and moisturization without forming that thick layer over the skin. This will suit all skin types, although dry skinned people can follow it up with a moisturizer. I have dehydrated-oily skin and I use it after toning during daytime. I follow it up with sunscreen and that’s it, my morning routine is done.

Pyunkang Yul Moisture cream (USD 30.00 for 100ml):

Pyunkang Yul

Formulated with 14 ingredients, Pyunkang Yul moisture cream stands true to its name. For complete analysis of the ingredients, please visit skincarisma.com. (clickable link)

The moisture cream is not thick, it feels like an emulsion. It provides good moisturization and will suit dry to normal skintypes as it leaves the skin slightly shiny. Also, it takes some time to get absorbed into the skin, hence I used it during night time (when I don’t mind a shiny face).

My verdict on Pyunkang Yul products:

I had high expectation from this brand and it completely lived upto it. The packaging is made from glass and is not air tight, which makes it not easy to travel with (my moisture cream had already leaked when in transit before reaching me). For dry and dehydrated skin, I highly recommed you follow all the three steps to get maximum benifit while normal and oily skinned people can skip a product in their routine. I used the essence toner and moisture serum during daytime and the moisture cream at night.

The only con is the brand’s availability in India. I wish they launch here so that we can try all their amazing products.
