POND’S white beauty BB+ Fairness Cream review | Internet made me buy

Hello, ladies!

Today I’m going to talk about a product, much hyped, much talked about and most people’s favourite~The POND’S white beauty BB+ Fairness Cream. Frankly speaking, I never had a thing for this as I am not a BB cream person, but just because many YouTubers and beauty bloggers were raving about how awesome this is, I bought it (the bigger one). I’ll give you my reasons so as to why I dislike this product.

Price: Rs.350 for 50g product.

Packaging: It comes in a tube packaging with a pump! My dislike began right from the packaging itself. Why there has to be a pump when the product has been packed in a squeezable tube? It’s a very weird combination for me.

Shade & Texture: This comes in just one shade! And that shade is not apt for Indian skin tones. I am NC42 and it is still light for me. So, this is not going to suit ladies with deeper skin tones. The consistency is a bit silicony and a bit creamy. It is not blendable easily but with little efforts, it is manageable.

Coverage: This gives light to medium coverage, but it is not buildable. If you wish to build it up, it will become cakey with an uncomfortable feeling.

Staying power: It doesn’t stay for more than 3-4 hours. It neither controls oil for long nor blurs out pores. It just sits on the skin and gives a cakey look.

My experience: I tried using it for a month now just to change my first impression but NO! This has terribly failed to impress me. First of all, the shade is not a match for my skin tone by any means. Had it been lighter, I would’ve managed it with bronzing and stuff but this is not the case. It gives a grayish ghostly cast post applying which cannot be handled with any compact or bronzer. It accentuates my pores and doesn’t control oil on my face. I’ve to touch up with a compact powder every 2-3 hours which only increases the cakiness.

Can you see that grey patch?

The verdict: I am done trying to find out ways to make this BB cream work for me. I wonder how come this has suited so many people out there! The tube has barely emptied and I am planning to trash this (or give it to my sister/friends if they need).

The only plus point is the SPF30+++ but what’s the use if I am not going to use the product itself! If you still want to try this, I highly suggest you buy the trial pack first!

Have you used this BB cream? What are your views on this? Do let me know!

Until next time, stay beautiful & keep smiling!

  1. Great review! I have always wondered why people love it so much. I am around NC42 as well so thank god I did not pick this one up. I am sure I would have felt the same. My turn off was that it said Whitening on the pack and I just put it back on the shelf. I like the pump in the product though, very similar to some high-end BB creams.

  2. Very good review!! 🙂
Oh finally i see someone who dislikes this bb cream.. I dnt like it either they should probably try to expand the shade range so people can try it! And that’s funny it has a pump now! that does not make sense.

  3. I am actually about to post a review on the same product next tuesday! What a coincidence!! I have the same issue as you I am trying to get it to work for me, but still haven’t found a way…… please go check out my blog! I just started but I am going to be posting review on products as well and maybe we can collab one day!!

I had to!! I was a bit worried because this is a HG bb cream for many people. But now I am satisfied that many people share the same feelings for it as I do!!

    • Tosom says:

I am so done with bb/cc creams now. I’d rather go for a light weight sheer coverage instead. Thanks for stopping by my love 😘

  4. only singke shade is biggest drawback for this… The shade matches my skin so i prefer this over garnier one…garnier one makes me look orange 🙁

    • Tosom says:

The older garnier bb cream was perfect!! But now they’ve changed packaging and formula and the shade’s changed too!! Didn’t suit me. I still crave for the older garnier one. 🙈

    • Tosom says:

Then we are in the same boat!! What’s wrong with bb creams, why there’s only one shade?? It’s pathetic. 😏

  5. Great review! Finally, someone said it. I’ve wondered why people love it so much. The number one reason why I’d never pick this up is the shade range-one shade? Are you kidding me? How can you expect to do well in the Indian market where most women are olive to deep skin-toned? I myself am a NW 35, and I’ll never even go near this.
I’d love it if you’d stop by my blog and check out my latest post: https://macandmetallica.wordpress.com
    Thanks x

I am so glad that the pump seems irritatingly funny to you as well!!! Atleast, I am not alone who thinks that way. Thanks for stopping by my dear. 🙂

  6. Good detailed review Bhumika! The main problem is that they have a single shade only. Should launch more shades maybe.🙊 Overall, I like it minus its whitening claims. PS: pretty pictures babe! 😻 xo

  7. One shade is depressing i agree…i also did not loke it when i bought it but then to finish it i started using this by mixing it in with my day cream and then i eventually loved it…i hate heavy duty stuff for everyday so this worked the purpose and luckily shade was match for me… But honestly i love lakme cc cream more than this..
