Murad Essential C cleanser | Review
I am always intrigued by luxury brands and when Murad launched on Nykaa, I immediately picked up their cleanser (mini variant) to try. Usually cleansers are something I don’t spend much on because a) they don’t stay for long on the skin and b) they empty quickly. However, my curiosity to try a luxe cleanser forced me to try this. But is it good enough? Continue reading my thoughts on Murad Essential C cleanser to know whether it is worth the price?
Price: Rs.990 for 60ml and Rs.3400 for 200ml (too pricey!) Also, the pricing is weird. If you calculate the price according to mini, you can get 200ml for Rs.3300 only! It’s better to purchase minis as compared to the full sized variant.

Ingredients:
Water/Aqua/Eau, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Disodium Laureth Sulfosuccinate, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Aminomethyl Propanol, Polysorbate 20, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Panthenol, Phospholipids, Tocopheryl Acetate, Retinyl Palmitate, Ascorbyl Palmitate, Ascorbic Acid, Chitosan, Rice Amino Acids, Zinc Aspartate, Allantoin, Sodium PCA, Lactose, Cellulose, Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose, Propyl Gallate, Disodium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol, Chlorphenesin, Limonene, Linalool, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Oil, Citrus Nobilis (Mandarin Orange) Peel Oil, Ocimum Basilicum (Basil) Oil, Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Peel Oil, Ferula Galbaniflua (Galbanum) Resin Oil, Fragrance (Parfum), Iron Oxides (CI 77492)
Murad Essential C cleanser is packed with Vitamins A, C and E which help in skin conditioning, prevent skin damage, provides nourishment and fights skin dryness. There’s allantoin and panthenol which help in skin softening and moisturization. We also have a bunch of essential oils and added fragrance in this cleanser.
The cleanser is formulated without Parabens, Phthalates, Gluten, Mineral Oil, Formaldehyde, Oxybenzone, Petrolatum/Petroleum.
The texture is runny gel and it contains yellow cellulose beads that burst while rubbing. Cellulose beads aren’t harsh and hence don’t cause micro tears on the skin like walnut scrubs. The cleanser lathers well and doesn’t strip down the skin of its moisture. It doesn’t irritate/burn the eyes as well.
My verdict on Murad Essential C cleanser:
This cleanser does everything a cleanser is supposed to do. Also, I don’t find any active intriguing in a cleanser because it’ll hardly stay for 30 seconds before being washed off. This is only going to add up the price and the active won’t be of much use (except AHA, BHA, skin conditioning/hydrating agents and Vitamin C). But Vitamin C in a cleanser does work in the long run. This mini tube lasted me a month and a half when used daily twice and I think it is decent enough. I felt my skin broke less, the texture seemed even and my skin looked radiant ever so slightly. I have acne prone skin and it didn’t aggravate acne at all.
Suitable for: all skin types unless you are sensitive to essential oils
If you have extra money to spare, do check out this cleanser. Otherwise, there are a bunch of other cleansers out in the market with the same efficacy at a lesser price.
