Laneige Watery Sun Cream | Review
When there’s ‘watery‘ mentioned in a product name, what do you anticipate? Anyone would assume that the texture must be light weight and apt for oily skin. BUT BUT! This is not the case with Laneige Watery Sun Cream. I got this sunscreen solely because of that ‘water‘ claim. Nonethetless, I was highly disappointed. Why? Continue reading to know.
Price: Rs.1650 for 50ml. This definitely is a hefty price especially for a sunscreen that doesn’t meet your criteria!

Laneige Watery Sun Cream has both chemical and mineral/physical sunscreen filters making it a hybrid formulation. (to know more about sunscreen filters, please visit my post here)
UV filters:
- Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate – protects against UVB rays
- Diethylamino Hydroxybenzoyl Hexyl Benzoate – protects against UVA
- Bis-Ethylhexyloxyphenol Methoxyphenyl Triazine – both UVA and UVB
- Titanium Dioxide – UVA2 and UVB
This sunscreen has broad spectrum UV filters which protect our skin from all kinds of UV radiations, no doubt. It has an SPF rating of 50+ and PA++++ (the more plus the better).
How to use Laneige Watery Sun Cream:
Steps: Facewash ~ Toner ~ serum/essence ~ moisturizer ~ Laneige Watery Sun Cream
Sunscreens should always be used during daytime (obviously!). Also, they need to be reapplied every 2 hours. (I know not many of us don’t follow that!). Don’t forget to cleanse the sunscreen off before going to bed at night by washing your face thoroughly.
My verdict on Laneige Watery Sun Cream:
I feel cheated! The claim ‘watery‘ made me purchase this sunscreen expecting it to be a light-weight gel like formula. But all in vain. The formula is not too thick but very nourishing for my liking. Also, it takes a hell lot of time to blend in and leaves a terrible grey cast on me. Makes me look so dull instantly, also super greasy. I don’t like putting makeup on the top of it because it feels heavy as well. The sun-protection capability is good and it did not allow my skin to tan but what’s the point when the consistency is not as per my liking. I’ll finish this up by using at home, definitely can’t go out wearing this sunscreen.

Suitable for: those having dry skin (preferably fair)
Not suitable for: normal to oily skin types, also will leave a disgusting grey cast on people having medium to deep skin tones.
