Koko Chemistry 10% Niacinamide facial serum | Review
Niacinamide is an amazing ingredient but it needs to be applied consistently to see visible results. I have used many niacinamide serums in the past and experienced similar results with all. But I had some different expectations with Koko Chemistry 10% Niacinamide facial serum because of its consistency and choice of actives. Let’s dive into the detailed review right away.

Koko Chemistry 10% Niacinamide facial serum comes in an amber glass bottle with a pump dispenser. The packaging is apt for the kind of consistency the serum has. The ingredient list is pretty impressive.
Ingredients:
Active & Natural Ingredients: Niacinamide (aka Vitamin B3), Vitamin B5, Low Molecular Weight Hyaluronic Acid, Zinc PCA, Jojoba Seed Oil, Lavender Oil, Witch Hazel Extract, Olive Oil.
Base Ingredients: Aqua, Hydroxystearyl Alcohol, Hydroxystearyl Glucoside, Glycerin, Ethylhexylglycerin, Fragrance.
The star ingredient is Niacinamide which is in 10% concentration. It is beneficial for oily acne prone skin as it helps treat mild acne, regulates sebum and reduces the appearance of large pores. The skin barrier strengthens and it also helps in fading pigmentation (in turn aids brightening).
Vitamin B5 (also known as Panthenol) is very hydrating, keeps skin’s moisture level balanced.
Low Molecular Weight Hyaluronic Acid easily sinks into the skin, hence is more beneficial. The results are better as compared to higher molecular weight HA.
Zinc PCA is an excellent ingredient to treat acne and regulate sebum production.
Jojoba seed nourishes, hydrates and treats skin dryness and conditions like rosacea.
Lavender oil helps in calming the skin and has inflammatory properties.
Witch Hazel extract calms the skin, soothes irritation and helps treat sunburns.
Olive oil is highly nourishing, helps in skin cells regeneration and also has anti-oxidant properties.
Koko Chemistry 10% Niacinamide facial serum has a runny lotion like consistency. It doesn’t feel like a conventional serum but instead feels like a very light moisturizer. In extremely hot and humid climate, I can easily get away by using this as a moisturizer. Other times I do apply a moisturizer on the top of it. This serum layers well under skincare and makeup and doesn’t feel heavy at all. It does have a mild fragrance but it is hardly noticeable.
My verdict on Koko Chemistry 10% Niacinamide facial serum:
I really enjoyed using this serum. This serum has been incorporated it in my morning routine and has been used almost daily for the past 1 month. I did notice some visible results (which was surprising because Niacinamide takes long to work) but I feel a lot more results can be seen with prolonged use. This serum didn’t give me any break out or skin irritation which was a plus point. This bottle will last 2-2.5 months approx. when used daily (one time).
Steps:
Facewash ~ toner ~ Koko Chemistry 10% Niacinamide facial serum ~ moisturizer ~ sunscreen (only during daytime)
Results:
- Improved skin texture
- Mild fading of pigmentation
- Skin looked less congested
- No dry patches (which I get occasionally)
- Skin looked nourished and radiant
Suitable for: almost all skintypes. Will be more beneficial for people having oily acne prone skin.
Not suitable for: people facing fungal acne issue. Also those having extremely sensitive skin, please proceed with caution.
“Always do a patch test before incorporating any new skincare product in your routine.”
