Simple Purifying Face Wash | Review
Simple is known for their affordable fuss-free products. Hence whenever they come out with a new range, I am always intrigued. I had grabbed 3 products from Daily skin detox range right on the day of the launch. Today I am sharing my thoughts on one of them. Let’s find out whether Simple Purifying Face Wash is worth a try or not.
Price: Rs.375 for 150ml. This is a very decent pricing and the quantity is also good.
Availability: Online on majority e-commerce websites like Nykaa, Myntra and Amazon.
Ingredients: Aqua, Hamamelis Virginiana Leaf Water, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Glycerin, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, PEG-7 Glyceryl Cocoate, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Benzophenone-4, Citric Acid, Hydrated Silica, Hydroxypropyl Cyclodextrin, Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate, Niacinamide, Panthenol, Pantolactone, Phenoxyethanol, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Benzoate, Sodium Chloride, Sodium Hydroxide, Thymus Vulgaris Flower/Leaf Extract, Xanthan Gum, Zinc PCA.
Simple Purifying Face Wash has actives like:
Thyme: which has antifungal and antiseptic properties.
Zinc: has anti-inflammatory properties, reduces oil production and clears acne causing bacteria.
Witch Hazel: beneficial for oily acne prone skin, cleanses skin, tightens pores, soothes and heals the skin.
The formulation is free from salicylic acid, alcohol and mineral oil. There’s also no added fragrance or colours (if that concerns you).
Simple Purifying Face Wash has a gel texture that contains minute scrub particles. The scrub particles aren’t abrasive at all. In fact they are super gentle on the skin and help in deep cleansing. For someone like me who has shunned physical exfoliation (scrubs) altogether, this was a good change and I enjoyed the experience.
My verdict on Simple Purifying Face Wash:
I am still unable to make my mind on this one and I’ll explain you why. Though this facewash is quite good in cleansing and totally apt for oily-acne prone skin, there are chances that one might overdo with this. Somehow my routine coincidentally included retinol, a chemical peel and this facewash ~ all at once and my skin experienced severe sensitivity and got rashes. It took 3-4 days for the rashes to calm and heal. After that incident, I use this facewash on alternate days and never faced an issue. Hence, I wouldn’t recommend you guys to use this every single day but on alternate days to avoid over-exfoliation. It does help in calming the skin and helps in clearing acne. But be wary of not rubbing too harshly else it is going to be painful especially while having active acne.
Suitable for: normal, oily acne prone skin
Not suitable for: dry, sensitive skin
