Believe it or not, a good mascara does make a difference! I was of the opinion that one must not splurge on mascaras as they need to be discarded within 3-4 months of opening and hence never purchased a mascara above Rs.500. But I eat my own words and say I WAS WRONG! I tried Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Mascara and fell in love with it instantly! Read on to know why I love it so much and why I recommend not purchasing it (at least the first time!).

Price: Rs.1900 for 3ml and Rs.3350 for 6ml. (This is a luxe product so no need of cribbing about the price!)

Though this is a mini variant, it doesn’t seem small. I mean it is only slightly smaller than the regular mascaras we have in the market. I’d prefer the mini one over full sized as mascaras need to be finished within 3 months and discarded ASAP. I am pretty confident that 3ml will last me 3 months or more. 6ml mascara would end up drying and I don’t want that!

About my lashes:

I have sparse lashes that are naturally somewhat long but lack the volume. Also they are uneven meaning dense at some areas and pretty non-existent at others. I needed a mascara which provides some body without looking too obvious. I just need my lashes to be visible from some distance.

My verdict on Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Mascara:

I fell in love with this mascara the first time I applied it. It looks natural but provides some volume and body to the lashes at the same time. The biggest PRO I can say is that IT DOESN’T CLUMP. Unlike some other mascaras which makes your lashes spider like, this WILL NOT. It lasts the entire day and comes off easily with a makeup remover (even micellar water) as it is not water-proof. See, perfect for daily wear!

PROS:

• Mini variant (which can be used up in 2-3 months ~ no wastage)
• Gives length and some dimension to the lashes
• Doesn’t clump OR give spider lashes
• Doesn’t smudge/bleed/spread/make panda eyes
• Looks very natural
• Comes off easily with micellar water

CONS:

• Price can be an issue
• Not water-proof
• Won’t provide drastic volume (if you are looking for that)

Why I recommend not purchasing Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Mascara?

The mini variant is usually part of offers and you can get it as a free product along with any other Bobbi Brown purchase. Hence I’d recommend you get it as a free product first, try it and then decide whether you can shell out that much money on a mascara or not. (Thank me later!)
