Kaya brightening night cream | Review

I’ve decided not to shun a brand because of its whitening claims! For years, I wasn’t intrigued by Kaya because their fairness claims were not acceptable for me. But recently when I was sent a few products to try, I actually liked them. I’ve talked about the other 2 products on my Instagram (here) and shall be sharing my 2 cents on Kaya brightening night cream.

Kaya brightening night cream

Price: Rs.950 for 50 ml and has a shelf life of 2 years.

The packaging is all plastic which looks nice but is fragile. The cap broke right on day 2 (didn’t survive a single fall).

Kaya has stores in various cities and their products are also available in beauty shops like Health & Glow. You can also check online for discounts. To purchase from Nykaa, click here.

Kaya brightening night cream

Kaya brightening night cream comes in a pump dispenser bottle which is totally apt for the consistency. One and a half pump is what I use for face and neck.

The consistency is exactly how I’d like my night creams to be, lightweight yet very moisturizing. It gets absorbed into the skin and imparts a healthy glow. Though it doesn’t give a matte finish, it doesn’t look/feels greasy either. There is a sweet fragrance which is not strong but definitely makes its presence felt.

Kaya brightening night cream

Key ingredients:

Aqua, Potassium Azeloyl Diglycinate (PAD), Glyceryl Monostearate, PEG 100 stearate, Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate, extract of Imperata cylindrica, Isohexadecane, Fragrance, Phynoxyethanol.

PAD is an azelaic acid derivative which has skin lightening properties in addition to sebum controlling and moisturization.

Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate is a stable form of Vitamin C which is a powerful antioxidant, has skin brightening properties and fights premature aging.

Imperata cylindrica is a species of grass which is used to treat dry skin.

Isohexadecane is a skin conditioner.

I hate it when brands get away by mentioning just the “key ingredients”. Indian government should impose stricter rules for brands to disclose all ingredients. What’s the purpose of not disclosing all ingredients? I simply don’t get that!

My verdict on Kaya brightening night cream:

I would’ve loved to review this product a little late after having experienced its complete benefits but as this is gifted, I have to follow certain guidelines. Nonetheless, like I already mentioned I am pretty impressed by Kaya brightening night cream. The PAD and Vitamin C indeed helped in brightening my complexion a little as I am already tanned. (little because I’ve been using it for only 2 weeks as of now) Though meant for dry to normal skin, this can be used by all skintypes. Of course, one can layer serums and essence to increase the hydration as per their needs. This hasn’t irritated my skin or caused acne and has really helped my skin stay moisturized during colder nights as well.

We don’t know the entire ingredients list but what we definitely know is that the product really works. I’ll continue using the cream for longer period of time and update you guys about its full efficacy in an Instagram post in near future.
