Needless to mention I was so tempted that without giving any second thoughts, I purchased Cosrx Shield Fit Snail Essence Sun. I am almost on the verge of finishing the tube after about 3-4 months. Continue reading to find out my experience with this sunscreen.

It contains UV protectors, various oils and extracts, skin conditioners including humectants and last but not the least alcohol.

Texture:

The texture of Cosrx Shield Fit Snail Essence Sun is somewhat thicker and doesn’t get absorbed instantly. It takes around a couple minutes to get absorbed. Till that time a slight white cast may be seen but it doesn’t stay for long.

It does feel a tad bit heavy while applying but it doesn’t feel heavy while wearing. There’s a slight shiny finish to it but it doesn’t add to the greasiness and sits beautifully under makeup.

My verdict on Cosrx Shield Fit Snail Essence Sun:

Cosrx Shield Fit Snail Essence Sun comes with an SPF of 50+ and PA+++ providing broad-spectrum protection which is a plus point (If you want to understand these terms then visit my earlier post about Sun protection here). It has nourishing ingredients which moisturize the skin at the same time. But it has alcohol! That too right in the top 5 ingredients! Why Cosrx? And this variant is described as a moisturizing essence then why the need to add alcohol? I’m so thankful that my skin didn’t react to it but I’ll not be repurchasing as alcohol dries the skin even in the shorter run. I was hoping that Cosrx Shield Fit Snail Essence Sun will turn out to be a great chemical sunscreen but I am disappointed with the ingredient list (alcohol in particular).

I liked the feel of it, how beautifully it sits under makeup and its sun-protecting capabilities but I cannot recommend Cosrx Shield Fit Snail Essence Sun as it might dry out your skin. If you still want to go ahead and use it, I’ll not stop you as I myself have been using it.
