It is very tricky to find that perfect moisturizer which suits your requirements and your skin type! Hence, I always keep trying a hell lot of them. I had received The Faceshop Dr. Belmeur sample in a kbeauty purchase and was pretty impressed by it. Hence when the range launched on Nykaa, I had to get at least one product for myself. So I picked The Faceshop Dr. Belmeur Clarifying Moisturizer. Continue reading to know more about the moisturizer.

Price: Rs.1800 for 120ml. I know the price is steep but wait for offers and discounts. I got this at a great discount from Nykaa, around Rs. 1200 or so. The product needs to be used up within 12 months of opening the tube.

The Clarifying line is specifically meant for oily-acne prone skin while the Daily repair line caters to dry-dull skin.

Ingredients:

The ingredient-list is pretty long and you can analyze all of them here. Mentioning a few noteworthy ingredients below:

Glycerin (humectant), Panthenol (soothing), Citrus extract (anti-oxidant), Niacinamide (regulates oil production, treats hyperpigmentation, fights aging), Shea butter (moisturizing), along with lots of flower extracts and essential oils.

There is tea tree oil as well (last in the list) which works amazingly in fighting acne and keeping them at bay. The fragrance is a milder version of tea tree which I like.

The texture of The Faceshop Dr. Belmeur Clarifying moisturizer is very light, gel-like and instantly melts into the skin. It provides intense nourishment without making the skin greasy or oily. Mind it, it is not a mattifying product but is an excellent choice for oily skin types. It imparts a perfect amount of sheen which gives the skin a healthy glow.

How to apply: Use it as a regular moisturizer be it day or night. The steps should be like this: facewash ~ toner ~ The Faceshop Dr. Belmeur Clarifying moisturizer. As this product contains many essential oils, never apply it near the eye socket area. The essential oils might irritate the delicate skin over there.

My verdict on The Faceshop Dr. Belmeur Clarifying moisturizer:

Many people already claim that this is a dupe for many high end gel based/aqua moisturizers. No wonder, this has become my holy grail product. I usually keep my night routine different but there are times when I’ve used this moisturizer day in and out. It really helps in fighting the acne and keeping them at bay with regular use. I usually get bigger acne during periods but with the regular use of this, their size has significantly reduced. I don’t see any effect on pigmentation as such but for oily & acne-prone skin, this moisturizer is definitely a must try! Also, did I mention that this moisturizer sits well under makeup too. I’ve been using it for more than 3 months and still one-third of it is still left.

There are a couple of cons which can’t be ignored:

• As it has a lot of essential oils, might not be suitable for sensitive skin.
• I wish dimethicone were replaced with some bio-friendly ingredient.
