Tosowoong Spot Brightening Whitening Vita Clinic | Review | Kbeautyfail
I had asked in my Insta stories whether you guys are interested in Kbeauty product fails and, to my surprise, almost every one of you was interested! Hence, beginning the series #KbeautyFail on my blog. Today we are going to talk about 2 products from Tosowoong Vita Clinic range. If this idea intrigues you then please continue reading.
Tosowoong Spot Whitening Vita Clinic Lotion:
To be very honest, I got the lotion because the packaging resembles that of Drunk Elephant products. (Okay! Judge me now.) It retails for USD19.80 and we get 80 ml product. I got mine from jolse.com. It comes in a pump packaging and two pumps are enough for one time use.
The formula claims to fade away pigmentation, brightens skin, boosts radiance and minimises uneven skin discolouration.
It’s impossible to find the ingredients list online in English, hence I translated with the help of Google translate. (hehe).
Purified water, glycerin dipropylene glycol caprylic / capric triglyceride Hydrogenated polydecene niacinamide (20000ppm), polyglyceryl-3-manganese glucoside stearate, cyclopentasiloxane butylene (0.1 ppm), glyceryl linolinate (0.5 ppm), glyceryl arachidonate (05con, retinyl palmitate (0.1 ponl biotin (0.1 con), S0IO nokogabaine (0,01com), sodium ascorbyl phosphate (5ppm), Tocopheryl acetate (5ppm), Thiamine HCI (0.1con), Panthenol (1ppln), Polik acid (0.1ppm), Pyridoxine (0.1ppm), Bosswellia resin extract, , P-100 stearate, polyglyceryl-10 stearate cetearyl alcohol, cyclohexasiloxane, glyceryl stearate, dimethicone / Nyl dimethicone crosspolymer, acrylate / C10-30 alkyl acrylate crosspolymer, carbour, cetyl ethylhexanoate shea butter isohexadecane isocetes-25, alalax 1 tes-10, sodium acrylate / sodium Acryloyldimethyltaurate copolymer, polysorbate 0. sorbitan oleate, hydrogenated lecithin, hydroxyethyl urea, maltitol hydroxy ethyl hexanediol, 1,2-hexanediol, perfume.
My verdict on Tosowoong Spot Whitening Vita Clinic Lotion:
I had high expectations from this lotion, especially after coming tanned from my Malaysia trip but this did nothing. It does provide a good amount of moisturization but apart from that, nothing. The pigmentation on my skin and uneven skin colour remained just as they were. I kept using this just because I didn’t want to waste my 1400Rs. (approx.). It also leaves a shiny appearance on the skin but doesn’t feel heavy or greasy. So, if you are looking for a moisturiser, and don’t expect anything else from it, then you may give this a try.
Tosowoong Spot Brightening Vita Clinic Moisture Vitamin Pads:
These are pre-soaked pads meant for mild exfoliation, toning and moisturizing the skin. Use them as you’d normally use a toner. The tub retails for USD28.50 and there are 70 pads in it. I use them in my PM routine after double cleansing (cleansing balm/oil + facewash) followed up with a serum and moisturizer. I got this from Jolse.com as well.
For this one, there is absolutely no ingredients list whatsoever (why didn’t I check before purchasing?).
As per Jolse’s description:
- It is made of microfiber fabric which is not irritating to the skin and removes dead skin cells or wastes.
- Sea buckthorn extract and 13 kinds of fruit extracts make the skin clean and bright.
- It can be used not only on the face but also on the elbow, knee, heel which need to exfoliate.
- Contains AHA & BHA in milder concentration, suitable for daily use.
My verdict on Tosowoong Spot Brightening Vita Clinic Moisture Vitamin Pads:
This was my first time experiencing toning pads like these and I was very excited. I didn’t notice any brightening (lightening of my tan) effect but these did a good job of toner. These mildly exfoliated the dead skin and helped in removing any traces of makeup leftover during the cleansing process. I didn’t breakout while using these but the missing ingredient list is definitely a big concern for me. Also, there is a lot of liquid in the jar in addition to the 70 pads, I can’t comment on how much travel-friendly the packaging is!
I was a little sad as both the products turned out to be a bummer for me despite their high claims. But the good point was I didn’t break out at all using these (touch-wood).
