Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick | Day 26 | 31DaysOfNude | #swatchOber
Hello! everyone. Welcome to my series of 31DaysOfNudeLips wherein I shall be sharing, reviewing and swatching 31 different shades of Nude lipsticks. I am (and will be forever) an ardent lover of nude shades. They are so apt for everyday wear, be it college or office. By now, you already know me! (so no more justifications). October is my birthday month and I want to celebrate it by sharing a nude lip shade every single day. Also, I shall not be mentioning those lipsticks which I’ve already reviewed on my blog. Hoping you enjoy this series as much as I do, let’s begin in no particular order. The lipstick that I’ve chosen for Day 26 is Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick in the shade I’m Shook.
Price: USD18 for 5.6gm product.
Availability: The brand Jeffree Star isn’t available in India. But you can get their products from websites which ship internationally (like BeautyBay & Beautylish) or trusted Instagram resellers. I got mine via a friend in London.
Packaging; Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick comes in a sturdy transparent plastic packaging which reflects the lipstick shade. The wand is neither too long nor too short, and has a thick curved applicator. (to me it looks like the base of a wedge sandal)
Texture & pigmentation: Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick has a liquid consistency which applies evenly and provides full coverage in a single swipe. The lipstick dries in a minute or two and then becomes transfer-proof. It provides a velvet matte finish.
The shade I’m Shook is a gorgeous brick red colour. Though, this shade will flatter majority skin tones, this shade is specially meant to be a beautiful nude for medium & deep skin tones.
My verdict on Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick:
If this brand were available in India, I would’ve got more shades from the range. This feels so comfortable despite the matte finish. The lipstick stays for 5 hours without feeling dry at all. You can feel a slight sticky feeling while pressing the lips but that is because of the moisture that is still present. It fades evenly and starts of come off from the inner side of the lips first. I am really fond of the formula and prefer such liquid lipsticks over the drying ones. Though a little pricier, Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick is definitely worth it.
