Hello! everyone. Welcome to my series of 31DaysOfNudeLips wherein I shall be sharing, reviewing and swatching 31 different shades of Nude lipsticks. I am (and will be forever) an ardent lover of nude shades. They are so apt for everyday wear, be it college or office. By now, you already know me! (so no more justifications). October is my birthday month and I want to celebrate it by sharing a nude lip shade every single day. Also, I shall not be mentioning those lipsticks which I’ve already reviewed on my blog. Hoping you enjoy this series as much as I do, let’s begin in no particular order. The lipstick that I’ve chosen for Day 13 is Absolute New York Velvet Lippie in the shade Sanguine.

Price: Rs.625 for 6gm of product.

Availability: Hokmakeup, Nykaa, Jabong. I haven’t seen this brand in the stores yet.

Packaging: Absolute New York Velvet Lippie has a packaging very similar to that of The Body Shop Lip creams. The tube is colour coded and reflects the exact shade of the lipstick. The applicator has a long wand with a doe foot applicator.

Texture and pigmentation: Absolute New York Velvet Lippie has a creamy mousse texture which applies easily on the lips. This shade in particular is not full coverage, the pigmentation on the lips (if any) will still peak through slightly. It takes a while to dry and set, around 15-20 minutes, but even after that these don’t dry out completely. You can always feel a moisturizing effect on the lips.

The shade Sanguine is a super gorgeous Pink which will flatter fair to medium skin tones and slightly beyond. It has a sweet vanilla fragrance.

My verdict on Absolute New York Velvet Lippie:

I had purchased Absolute New York Velvet Lippie right after their launch on Nykaa, I wasn’t expecting anything from it because I hadn’t read any reviews then. But I am so glad I decided to pick this. Its formula is so comfortable and not drying at all. I can wear this lipstick every single day to office because of that. This shade flatters my skin so well and makes my face look brighter. The staying power is around 4 hours after which it tends to fade slowly. If you prefer liquid lipsticks with comfortable formula, decent staying power, non-patchy application and don’t mind some transfer then this lipstick is an excellent choice. Also, this is more comfortable than NYX soft matte lip creams.
