Kiko Milano Smart Hydrating Foundation | Review
Kiko Milano is that one (and only) brand for which I had travelled to Mumbai to visit it’s store. Though later they did open one in Pune too. I have always been fascinated by their products, be it makeup or skincare. So when they launched on Nykaa, I instantly did a mini haul. I have been using Kiko Milano Smart Hydrating Foundation for quite some time now & ready with my thoughts. So, let’s dive right into the review.
Kiko Milano Smart Hydrating Foundation comes in 21 shades in toto out of which 19 shades are available on Nykaa. The shade range comprises of Warm Beige, Warm rose, Cool rose & Neutral. The shade range is pretty diversified and there’s a shade for pretty much everyone.
The foundation retails for Rs.590 and we get standard 30ml product. The expiry is 36 months which is great.
The packaging is very sleek and minimal. The foundation comes in a plastic tube and screw cap, apt for travelling as well. A plus point of tube packaging is that you can squeeze out the foundation until the very last drop unlike glass/bottle packaging wherein a lot of amount gets wasted (being stuck on the walls). There is also a negative point, you cannot anticipate the amount of product left inside.
I got the shade N80 which is a tad bit dark for my skintone but it’s okay, I am used to going half a shade darker. But next time I am definitely going to pick the shade N60 which I presume is going to be an exact match.
Though the shade N80 is from the Neutral range, it still has enough amount of yellow-ness to it. At times this shade tends to look orange on me but it doesn’t look weird.
The texture of Kiko Milano Smart Hydrating Foundation is like (a thicker version of) serum. The consistency is thin but not runny. This foundation can easily be applied via fingers or brush or a makeup sponge. It blends in seamlessly and looks like (a better version of the) skin. The finish obtained is dewy & imparts a healthy glow to the skin.
My verdict on Kiko Milano Smart Hydrating Foundation:
I have always preferred sheer/medium coverage over full coverage. And that is the reason I love this foundation. It makes my skin like skin, but better. It evens out slight discoloration and redness but does not cover marks completely. The foundation doesnot feel heavy or cakey. TBH, I’ve never tried building up the coverage as I like just the hint of colour for daily use. Also, I do blot a couple of times during the course of the day (perks of being an oily skinned person). But at the same time this is one of those few foundations which doesnot cling to any dry patches. Despite not being matte, this stays all day long. When I remove my makeup at night, I can see this foundation on cleansing wipes (proof!). I’ve used this foundation during hot humid weather and trust me it looks beautiful.
Summing up the plus points: affordable (to me because I use just a drop), sheer to medium coverage, hydrating, doesnot cling to dry patches, stays all day long & comes in wide variety of shades. This is going to be an excellent choice for dry to normal skin people. And I would really encourage oily skinned people to try a hydrating foundation like this (at least during the coming colder months).
My skin type: oily-dehydrated & acne-prone.
My shade: NC 40ish in MAC, Classic Tan in NYX total drops, 240 in Maybelline Fit Me, 7W/D in Loreal True Match, 300 in Fenty Beauty. (hope this helps)
