Dr. Sheth’s Basic Brightening Youth Glotion | Review
🇮🇳 Wishing all my subscribers a very Happy Independence Day! 🇮🇳
Who doesn’t want a glowing skin free of pigmentation, tan & congestion along with anti-aging effect? I guess everyone does, including myself! So when I came across Dr. Sheth’s Basic Brightening Youth Glotion I got super excited & immediately got one for my sister & one for myself. Now that I’ve been using it for more than 3-4 months, let me share my thoughts on its efficacy.
Dr. Sheth’s products are available on their website & on Nykaa. I had purchased this a long time back & at that time these weren’t available on Nykaa yet. Dr. Sheth’s Basic Brightening Youth Glotion comes in 2 variants. The 50ml bottle retails for Rs.850 & 100ml bottle retails for Rs.1699. I have the 100ml bottle.
The product comes in a dark coloured plastic bottle with a pump dispenser. The packaging is travel-friendly and is quite sturdy. The pump, however, isn’t that good as it squirts out the product sometimes and you might end up getting your clothes messy.
The texture of Dr. Sheth’s Basic Brightening Youth Glotion is like a lotion, neither too thick nor too runny. It smells sweet, not overpowering though. The youth glotion easily gets absorbed into the skin but it does give a temporary shine which disappears within a few minutes. It is quite moisturizing and can easily be used all alone by itself (for both AM & PM routines). Don’t forget to use a sunscreen while using Vitamin C products during the daytime. The texture is such that it will suit all skin types.
The ingredients list is quite impressive. And I love the fact that they have not only mentioned the ingredients name but also their benefits. Do note that Niacinamide is the fourth ingredient here!
Water, Propylene Glycol (penetration/texture enhancer), White soft paraffin (emollient), Niacinamide (anti-pigmentation, anti-acne, anti-redness), Light liquid paraffin (moisturizer), cetomacrogol (emulsifier), cetyl alcohol (emollient), japanese citrus extract (brightening), allantoin (healing), glycerin (hydration), phenoxyethanol (preservative), stearyl alcohol (emollient), orange oil (brightening), hibiscus extract (anti-scar), perfume
I got concerned as I saw both niacinamide & Vitamin C (orange oil) in the concoction. So I had a discussion with their team. Sharing the information that I received from them.
The Vitamin C present here in the form of orange oil & ushui extract which themselves have a unique combination of nutrients. So because of this blend, it doesn’t get affected by niacinamide. It all depends on the form of Vitamin C used. They also added that the Vitamin C that is in extracts isn’t always in an ascorbic acid form, so it only gets converted when absorbed into the skin. If it were 20% ascorbic acid & 5% niacinamide even then the deactivation would be really slow. (list is taken from their website)
So Vitamin C and niacinamide can be used together, it all depends on 1) the form of Vitamin C, 2) the formulation & 3) pH of the product.
My verdict on Dr. Sheth’s Basic Brightening Youth Glotion:
This has all good ingredients but does this really work? Well, let me first put a few things before finalizing my verdict. I have used many products having niacinamide and what I’ve learned from my experience is that niacinamide doesn’t affect overnight. It takes its own time to work and show results. I have used this glotion for months and definitely see an improved skin texture & brightening effect. This didn’t irritate my skin or my pores but let me tell you my sister’s POV as well. Her skin broke out immediately after using this for 3-4 days but after that her skin got better with time. Basically, this product can purge you out, so do take care of that. I will continue using Dr. Sheth’s Basic Brightening Youth Glotion as it is quite worth the price and also lasts long.
Let me know if you are willing to know more on purging. Will try explaining in my Instagram stories.
Concluding my thoughts here. I hope you liked my review and if you did, do consider subscribing to my blog. Show some love by liking, sharing and commenting your views/thoughts. Until next time, stay beautiful & keep smiling!

It sounds good but my skin type is such that it will definitely purge out a lot and then I will be left with ugly scars..it has happened twice before and then it is a whole battle to try and remove those scars..so will have to say no to this one *sigh*
