Garnier Light Complete Fairness Serum Cream | Review

Hello sweethearts! I know I’ve taken the longest break ever and I assume many of you might have forgotten me but now I am back into action. As the weather is getting colder day by day, I am giving more attention to skincare. Hence I’ve picked up few new products keeping moisturization in mind. Today I’m going to share my thoughts on Garnier Light Complete Fairness Serum Cream.

Garnier Light Complete Fairness Serum Cream

Reason for the purchase: I have a hate relationship with Garnier products (creams as well as haircare) because they’ve never worked for me. But, I couldn’t resist Alia Bhatt! I bought this cream just because Alia featured in the advertisement. (guilty as charged) Just wanted to mention that I never supported or even wanted a “fairness” effect, that claim is just bullshit.

Price: Garnier Light Complete Fairness Serum Cream is available in 2 variants: 18g for Rs.85 & 40g for Rs.160. Thankfully I picked up the smaller pack. (You’ll get to know the reason soon!)

Texture: Contrary to its name, this cream is not all serum like! The texture feels thick and rich. Though the cream gets absorbed quickly, it doesn’t feel light on the skin. The fragrance is citrusy and lingers for a while.

Claims: The claims of Garnier Light Complete Fairness Serum Cream are indeed very high!

  • Fairer looking skin in 1 week
  • Helps fade dark spots & reduces dullness
  • Up to 3 tones fairer looking skin (in 28 days)

The last claim is entirely obnoxious though!

My verdict on Garnier Light Complete Fairness Serum Cream:

I have been using this cream for 2 weeks now. Usually, I never do a skincare review this early but the high claims of this cream made me do this post. The existence of Unicorns and Fairies seems more convincing than the claim of making you visibly fairer in a week! Sarcasm apart, I didn’t see the slightest of change in my skin tone or skin spots. In addition to this, the cream will not even suit oily skin type people. Though it gets absorbed very easily, it feels very quite heavy on the skin. And my skin starts being oily in no time. No amount of foundation or compact can control the sebum production after using this cream. However, this hasn’t broken me out.

As usual, this cream is an utter disappointment and the tradition of my hate relationship with Garnier (creams and hair care) still continues. Dry and normal skinned people can still give this a try but don’t expect instant results (as claimed).

My skin reference: oily-dehydrated acne prone.
