I know, we were all smitten by the amazing shades that were introduced by Nykaa in their latest launch of nail paints. Nykaa seems to have taken away the nail paint market because they have nail paints of all shades and in all finishes. If you are considering to get one of these for Diwali, but willing to get a review first, then you just landed on the right page! Let’s directly jump into the review of Nykaa Salon Shine Gel Nail Lacquer.

Price: These are priced at Rs.325 for 15ml lacquer.

Availability: Only at Nykaa’s website and their Luxe stores.

Shades: There are 24 shades as of now! I got the shade Viva Mexico (red with hints of orange).

Finish: It has a very glossy-shiny finish which looks very appealing. By far, it’s the best glossy effect that I have ever experienced! I just couldn’t help but keep admiring my nails for the first two days of its application.

Packaging: Its packaging kind of reminds me of the O.P.I. nail lacquers. The only difference is that the former one is slightly bulkier. The glossy bottle which showcases the nail paint shade and the matte black cap only adds luxe feeling to the packaging. The problem is the applicator. It is wider than my liking (it is wider than the Maybelline gel nail paints’ applicator) and hence it becomes difficult to get that precision at the nail edges and sides. The wider applicator does help in a smooth finish and does cover more area in one go but still, it’s not so comfortable for me (I don’t even have tiny nails!).

Staying power: Though of showing you instead of describing how Nykaa Salon Shine Gel Nail Lacquer fared on my nails.

My verdict on Nykaa Salon Shine Gel Nail Lacquer:

I am not super impressed by this new launch but then Nail paints aren’t meant for that. I’ll still buy few more shades from the range because I really liked the glossy effect (for the first 2 days). Also, I used just one coat and not two, which might prolong the wear by few more days. And to give you a little more clarity, I don’t do household chores meaning the staying power can be considered to be in ideal conditions.

Removal: This shade got removed very easily, with just one swipe of a nail paint remover. Also, it doesn’t stain the nails which few bold shades tend to do.

Nonetheless, Nykaa Salon Shine Gel Nail Lacquer is perfect for the festive season, because glossy-bling is the new trend! Do let me know which shades you’ve purchased and for how long it stayed on your nails.
