The best cleansing balm in the world!
First of all, this is THE 100th post on my blog! Can’t believe, a little more than a year and 99 posts is what my blog is comprised of!! Thanks to YOU people for reading my posts and encouraging me in making more. I am so excited because a lot of amazing things are happening together. Firstly my birthday is approaching, I am hosting 4 giveaways next month and today I am talking about my favourite product Banila Co. Clean It Zero cleansing balm.
Makeup remover was the best thing that happened to my skin. But I wasn’t really satisfied with just water/oil based removers or micellar waters because I knew my skin needed to be cleansed more deeply. And thanks to my love for Korean skincare that I found an amazing cleansing balm. After a lot of online research, I finally decided to get my hands on Banila Co. Clean It Zero cleansing balm.
Why cleansing balm? These days makeup is all about being matte and transfer proof which water-based removers can’t effectively remove. While oil-based cleansers can be too heavy for oily skinned people, like me, and can further clog pores. And comes into picture the cleansing balm!
Price: Its actual price is 18,000 won equivalent to approx. 1,030Rs. But it is usually not available at this price. I got it for around 1,300Rs. We get 100ml product. (which is a huge tub!)
Availability: Not available in India. You’ll have to get it from sites shipping internationally.
Few options to buy from:
Yesstyle: https://goo.gl/MrFqiz
Cosmetic-love: https://goo.gl/vofPCT
Peach & Lily: https://goo.gl/v5xbci
Packaging: It comes in a white tub with a cute pink cap. There is an inner little plastic seal which holds the spatula. I absolutely love that it comes with its own spatula which prevents dipping hands directly into the product. So hygienic! Koreans are very serious when it comes to packaging, I tell you!Koreans are very serious when it comes to packaging, I tell you!
Texture: It has a thick texture, almost like a solidified oil. The balm melts as soon as it is rubbed onto the skin and starts melting the makeup immediately. It has a mildly sweet fragrance.
Ingredients: Mineral Oil, Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, PEG-20 Glyceryl Triisostearate, PEG -10Isostearate, Polyethylene, Butylene Glycol, Water, Rubus Suavissimus (Raspberry) Leaf Extract, Bambusa Arundinacea Stem Extract, Aspalathus Linearis Leaf Extract, Viscum Album, (Mistletoe) Leaf Extract, Angelica Polymorpha Sinensis Root Extract, Carica Papaya, (Papaya) Fruit Extract, Malpighia Glabra (Acerola) Fruit Extract, Epilobium, Angustifolium Leaf Extract, BHT, Butylparaben, CI 16255, CI 15985, Fragrance
There is no need to study every ingredient because we are just going to rub this product, melt our makeup and rinse it away. What’s more important to me is that the ingredients should be non-comedogenic so that it doesn’t clog pores.
Working & efficacy: As soon as the cleansing balm is rubbed onto the skin, it starts turning into an oil which melts away all the makeup. After massaging for some time, slowly start adding water (while still massaging) and the product emulsifies into a white liquid which gets washed away along with the makeup. This way cleansing takes place up to the pore level which prevents clogging. Make sure to rinse off properly so that no residue is left behind.
My verdict on Banila Co. Clean It Zero cleansing balm:
Since the day I’ve started using this, I’ve shunned all my water-based makeup removers. I can feel how well and easily this removes my makeup including waterproof mascara, liner and lipstick. It doesn’t leave any oiliness post wash but I still go for a second cleanse (with my facewash) after removing makeup. I don’t get foggy vision after using this, unlike Sephora Supreme cleansing oil. It hasn’t irritated my sensitive skin or my eyes. Banila Co. Clean It Zero cleansing balm is much cheaper than Clinique take the day off cleansing balm, the only cleansing balm available in India. I’ve been using this for more than 2 months and have managed to use up just the top layer. I highly recommend you to incorporate cleansing balms in your routine and see a difference for yourself.
The only cons to me are its availability and presence of paraben. But still, I am going to repurchase this unless I find a similar amazing option. No wonder it is a bestseller.
