Skin&Lab White Vita C Essence review | Skincare for skin lightening
Frankly speaking, Skin&Lab White Vita C Essence wasn’t in my to-post list in near future, but after receiving so many requests on my Instagram post, I decided to review this first. This was a product brought out of mere excitement. I was looking for a good Vitamin C serum/essence (Korean based) and rejected many because of their unaffordability. But as soon as I came across this, I added it to the cart immediately. Not hiding the fact that I absolutely love the essence, let’s dive into the review and look at the points which make it so awesome!
Price: I purchased it for around Rs.1200. The bottle contains 50ml product.
Availability: It is very difficult to get one’s hands on Korean brands in India. I came accross this wonderful site: yesstyle.com which not only stocks all major brands but also has not skyrocketed the prices. They also have economical shipping charges.
Buying link: yesstyle.com (not an affiliate)
Packaging: I absolutely adore the packaging. The essence comes in a white frosted glass bottle with a pump and a cap which shuts quite tightly. The pump dispenses correct amount of the product. Also, the bottle makes it very convenient to see how much product is left inside.
Ingredients in Skin&Lab White Vita C Essence:
Purified Water, Dipropylene Glycol, Glycerin, Ethyl Ascorbyl Ether (8630ppm), Green Tea Seed Oil, Butylene Glycol, Betaine, Beta Glucan, Hippophae Rhamnoides (Seabuckthorn) Oil, Hippophae Rhamnoides Fruit Extract, Lycium Barbarum (Goji) Fruit Extract, Euterpe Oleracea (Acai) Fruit Extract, Myrciaria Dubia (Camu Camu) Extract, Glycosyl trehalose, alpha-arbutin, Gellan gum, Sodium hyaluronate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Xanthan gum, Disodium EDTA, Sodium polyacrylate, Ethylhexanediol, Allantoin, Dipotassium glycyrrhizate, Polyglyceryl-2 Stearate, Glyceryl stearate, Stearyl alcohol, Hydrogenated Starch Hydrolysate, Arginine/Lysine Polypeptide, Caprylhydroxamic Acid, Caprylyl glycol, 1,2-hexanediol, Boswellia Serrata Resin Extract, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer, Fragrance
I tried finding the ingredient list in English because every where the ingredients are mentioned in Korean (even on the site of Skin&Lab). Finally, I found this source where the author has translated the ingredients herself and listed them on her blog. Thanks to her!
Main Ingredients:
Green Tea seed oil: Contains Vitamin C, for whitening
Spider silk protein: Skin elasticity & Vitalizing
Sea buckthorn oil: Retains moisture in the skin and has soothing properties
Ethyl Ascorbyl Ether: A very stable form of Vitamin C that contributes in skin brightening, fades pigmentation and effective for sunburned skin.
Arginine/Lysine Polypeptide: powerful antioxidant which fights aging and provides hydration which in turn improves the texture of the skin.
Texture: The essence is very light in texture, slightly watery & slightly slimy. It smells exactly like oranges & limes. One pump is enough for one time application for face. The essence also has moisturizing properties and gets absorbed into the skin without feeling heavy. It doesn’t leave any shine or greasiness post application. Most korean skincare works best when applied in dabbing/patting motion as against to rubbing on the skin.
My verdict on Skin&Lab White Vita C Essence:
I’ve been using this essence for 4 months now. I’ve included it in my AM routine followed by a moisturizer and a sunscreen. Vitamin C products should always be followed by a sunscreen, as they increase the photosensitivity of the skin. This essence hasn’t broken me out, in fact it has worked wonders on my skin. This essence (along with my entire skincare routine) has helped in lightening my skin and reducing the pigmentation. I say so because my HG compact foundation, MAC Studiofix in NC42, no longer is my shade. It turns orangish and slightly dark on me now. My skin glows and looks much more presentable to an extent that I’ve gone foundation-concealer free for daily wear. I only use a compact to mattify my oily skin.
With good skin comes a lot of confidence and it affects the overall attitude of a person as well. Skin&Lab White Vita C Essence is a great investment because though it is pricey, a single bottle will last more than 7-8 months, easily.
Vitamin C is an ingredient which should be incorporated in skincare routine right from the beginning. There are products in market with concentrations as high as 25%. Always start with a lower concentration and then keep increasing gradually. Allow your skin to adjust with all the nutrients that you are giving. As far as Skin&Lab White Vita C Essence is considered, I am definitely going to repurchase this. Also, as a matter of fact, my Korean skincare had initiated with this amazing product! Do you wish to know my entire skincare routine? Do let me know.

Thank you Akriti. Will do a post super soon.
I too am trying to reach the point where I can go completely foundation-concealer free on most days. Is there any Indian alternative to this product? Also, should we only use this once a day and can we use it at night?
I’ve recently gifted a vitamin C product to my sister (she was asking me to buy her this but I tried to get her a serum from Indian brand). Will let you know after some time about its efficacy. Also, this can be included in both AM & PM skin care routines but I prefer my PM routine to be a bit heavy and involve more than one actives. Hence the only choice left for me is to use this during daytime only.
Ok, thanks a lot for clarifying my doubts 🙂
This has intrigued me and I might try it in future, lovely review 🙂
