To be frank, lipsticks weren’t really my first love. When I stepped into the world of makeup, all I wanted was kajals and liners! But now I am smitten by almost everything, mostly topped by lipsticks. They are my life now! I was introduced to Milani Amore Matte Lip Creme by Antariksha (she is a YouTuber and has a channel by her name Antariksha Phadnis). The moment I saw the swatches, I knew I had to buy the shade Allure. Let’s know more about it.

Milani is a drugstore brand in the US but it’s not the case in India. Though it doesn’t fall under the drugstore category here, it definitely lies in the affordable range. Glad enough!

Price: It retails for Rs.1050 and we get 6g of product. Also, it needs to be finished within 12 months of opening.

Availability: Nykaa exclusive.

Shades: There are total 13 shades in this range. I got the shade Allure. (It is usually out of stock at Nykaa!)

Packaging: The packaging is quite classy. Transparent tube with golden chrome finish cap. The doe foot applicator is blunt which I don’t mind.

Texture: It has a thick formula which is neither mousse-y nor liquidy which glides easily and spreads evenly on the lips. I absolutely love its fragrance, reminds me of a sweet vanilla cake!

Pigmentation: It has an intense pigmentation. One swipe is enough to cover any kind of pigmented lips. Also, it dries out pretty quickly and settles into a powdery matte finish. (It turns slightly darker once dried).

The shade Allureis a lovely rosy shade with hints of brown, coral and pink. Not exactly a nude shade but will go nicely with smokey eyes too. It will suit almost all Indian skintones. (might wash out skintones darker than NC45).

Staying power: This is a pretty light weight-long lasting lipstick, stays for around 5-6 hours with heavy duty lunch in between. Though with almost every liquid lipstick, the inner side of my lips create a visible layer (I don’t know how to explain that!) which I have to wipe off and reapply after 3-4 hours (only on the inner side). This lipstick reapplies well.

My verdict on Milani Amore Matte Lip Creme:

I am absolutely in love with Amore Matte Lip Creme! It is very comfortable on the lips and is smudge-proof which stays for long.  It doesn’t dry out lips like other liquid lipsticks tend to do. Of course, as the day passes, the formula tends to get slightly drier but not uncomfortable at all. The shade suits me and instantly brightens up my face. I am so stunned by this shade that I am now searching for similar options in other brands as well.

Needless to say, I definitely recommend Milani Amore Matte Lip Creme, though slightly pricier but it is definitely worth the price! I am going to grab few more shades from this range.
