Summer is at it’s peak! With temperature rising to as high as 42 degrees, it becomes impossible to not to sweat and get oily faced. No makeup, irrespective of the brand or texture fails to impress at this time. So instead of layering more products and end up looking caked up, it’s time to go minimalist and stay care free. Today, I shall be suggesting a few products that can be used on a daily basis and which will stay for long and give a fresh feel. Also, all mentioned products are from drugstore brands, pocket friendly and easily available.

Also, as I am suggesting makeup products, I won’t be digging into the skin care ones.

1. Primer

Suggestion: Revlon photoready primer

I would highly highly recommend this primer to oily skinned beauties. It not only controls oil & minimises pores but also provides an eventone base to apply makeup on. I’ve personally used this a lot and my makeup literally stays the entire day even in sun! A little pricey but goes a long way as a little amount is required.

2. Compact powder

Suggestion: L’oréal Mat Magique All-in-one compact powder

This is a medium coverage compact which has SPF 34, perfect for summers! Also, I would recommend to skip any kind of foundation (cream or water based) because, in this heat, no foundation stays for longer than 2-3 hours, trust me. This is my personal experience. When applied over primer, this particular compact stays for 5-6 hours without fading away. And true to it’s name, it does keep oil at bay, for hours!

Option: You can also go for full coverage compact like MAC Studio fix compact foundation, though it doesnot have any SPF. But MAC stays for a longer period of time.

3. Mascara

Suggestion: Maybelline The colossal Volume Express Mascara

I personally use washable mascaras for daily wear because they are easier to remove. This mascara gives the perfect definition to your lashes and instantly lifts your eyes. I never ever step out of the house without a mascara! And never had any issues with mascara melting away (a common concept felt about washable mascaras in summers!).

4. Lip care

Suggestion: Maybelline Babylips

My lips show a bipolar behaviour in summers. It hardly takes a fraction of second for them to go from soft-supple to chapped. So, I prefer tinted lip balms especially Maybelline baby lips because of the hint of colour and SPF. I have been using them for years now. It is a perfect 2-in-1 lip product for days when you really don’t wish to apply lipsticks to give your lips some rest.

Option: Colorbar Matte Touch Lipstick can also be used as it comes with sun protection.

5. Perfume

Suggestion: Oriflame Citrus Tonic

Fruity & Citric fragrances are quite pleasing in summers. This particular perfume is not strong and at the same time leaves a nice smell which lingers on for a long time. You can choose any fruity fragrance as per your will.

So, these were my personal favourites as I use them every single day. I know how hard it becomes for oily skinned people to maintain a fresh face for the entire day. After a lot of trial and errors, I have come up with these products, the combination of which works perfectly for me. Let me know which product is your best friend for summer.
