Nudes are so IN these days. Irrespective of the season, mood or time, nude colours have the tendency to fit in the occassion easily! This post is going to be about my nude lipsticks’ collection. I have also inserted swatches so that you can have a better idea about the colours. There are total of 6 lipsticks and a nude gloss which goes with all of them. All of these are perfect for daily and office wear.

About my complexion: I am NC42 with highly pigmented lips (Hope this helps).

All the lipsticks mentioned are quite affordable (below 500Rs) and are easily available in beauty stores. Also, the prices that I’ve mentioned are their MRP while these are available at discounted price almost everywhere.

Starting with the swatches & mini reviews:

1. Maybelline Colorsensational Moisture Extreme Lipcolor

Shade: Chestnut

Price: INR 285

Staying power: 3-4 hours

Verdict: Maybelline definitely has to be in the list (It is my favourite brand). It is a nice pinkish nude lipstick which will compliment almost all skin tones. As the name suggests, it has a moisturising formula which doesn’t dry out the lips.

2. Faces Go Chic

Shade: Hazelnut

Price: INR 249

Staying power: 3-4 hours

Verdict: It is a complete nude brown shade which gives a semi matte finish. It is almost my lip colour, but better. A little drying on the lips but overall a nice shade for everyday use.

3.  L’oreal Paris Rouge Caresse Lipstick

Shade: Mauve Cherie

Price: INR 499

Staying power: 3-4 hours

Verdict: It is fine mauve shade which comes out a bit pinkish in light. It washes me out a little so I prefer a tinted gloss over it to balance the colours. Also, it is a little drying on lips, so moisturise well before applying.

4. Oriflame The ONE 5-in-1 Colour Stylist Lipstick

Shade: Refined Mauve

Price: Around INR 350

Staying power: 2-3 hours

Verdict: It is a perfect mauve shade! Yes. It has moisturising formula which doesn’t dry out the lips at all. Again a perfect shade for office wear.

5. Maybelline Colorshow lipstick

Shade: Warm Caramel

Price: INR 299

Staying power: Around 3 hours

Verdict: It is a nude shade with a tint of orange. It appears fantastic when freshly applied but tends to fade unevenly, also settles in between fine lines and transfers like anything. So, frequent touch ups are needed now and then. Not a perfect shade for everyday wear but when matched up properly, looks gorgeous.

6. Miss Claire Soft Matte Lip Cream

Shade: 15A

Price: INR 199

Staying power: 3-4 hours

Verdict: I bought this lipstick (and this particular shade) after reading all the wonderful reviews on internet, without even trying! And the result? This shade is meant for washing me out, Completely! Also, because of having pigmented lips, this shade doesn’t spread evenly and hence giving an uneven finish. The remedy: I gently dab the lip cream onto my lips, wait for it to dry and then apply a tinted gloss and TADA! it looks lovely.

7. Coloressence Liquid Lip Colour

Shade: LLP-15 Seren

Price: INR 225

Staying Power: Shine stays for 1-2 hours while the gloss actually stays for 3-4 hours

Verdict: I included the gloss because it is perfect for plumping your lips and goes well with all the above nude lipsticks. I personally like glossy lips over matte, hence I end up using glosses over all kind of lipsticks. This had fine shimmer in it and the shade is good enough which can be paired up with any lipstick or can be worn alone (but not for pigmented lips because of sheer coverage).

Nude shades are perfect for those who are not confident in carrying bold colours. A subtle hint of colour changes the entire look and also boosts confidence!
