My kajal collection
I think kajal was the first ever makeup product launched. I think so! Because as far as I can trace down my memory, kajal seems to be the first and the only makeup product I used to use. Since childhood I’ve incorporated the use of kajal to an extent that my eyes used to feel naked if I had not lined them with kajal. This was the situation way back in school. So now, I guess, you guys have understood my “love and love” relationship with kajal.
Today I shall be doing my kajal collection along with swatches and mini review kind of a post. So if it is super long, please bear with it. So in no particular order, I shall start.
The kajals I am currently possessing are:
1. Lakme eyeconic (brown)*
Brown kohls are best soughted after the black ones. This kajal is quite creamy and delivers perfect brown in 1-2 swipes. Brings no irritation to the eyes. Staying power is around 4-5 hours but it starts fading after that. It doesnot smudge until you start rubbing your eyes. Price:INR 275
2. Faces magneteyes kajal*
I had googled a lot before buying this kajal. True to its name, it indeed is a (dark) black kajal which sticks to your eyes like a magnet. Doesn’t budge at all the entire day. I use it almost daily to my office and never ever did I need a touch up. Excellent for waterline. Price: INR 175
3. Lotus colorkick kajal
I had accidentaly stumbled upon this kajal in one of the beauty stores. I bought it just to try as I was bored of my Maybelline Colossal black kajal. It is a decent black kajal and stays on the waterline for good 5 hours. Does fade a little though. Price: around 200Rs
4. Oriflame pure colour kajal
This is the cheapest of the lot. Not jet black and needs 3-4 swipes for the colour to show on waterline. Fades at a superfast speed and smudges too. I use it only when I am indoors or at home. Price: around 100Rs (after discount)
5. Maybelline The Colossal kajal (turquiose)*
Colours are so in these days. I have an extreme soft corner for Maybelline products. I always tend to buy their products right on the first day of launch. It’s like first day first show. I love the colour, it’s quite creamy. I use it both on waterline and upper lash line. It doesn’t stay for long, fades after 3-4 hours. I usually line my eyes black and then apply it to the outer side so as to intensify the colour-just like Alia does as shown in the ad ;). (I am a great great fan of Alia.) Price: INR 245
6. Plum NaturStudio all day wear kohl kajal**
The best of the lot. It is the darkest black I could ever imagine. Entirely sumdgeproof & waterproof. It sits like an obedient baby on your eyes. I am glad that I ordered this in one of my nykaa sale haul. I use this every time I tightline my eyes as it gives the best definition to them. Price: INR475
7. Oriflame The One High Impact Eye Pencil
I bought the shade Midnight Blue. It is nice dark blue shade with deep pigments but it needs good 2-3 swipes for the colour to show. Also, after applying on the waterline you cannot really distinguish the colour as blue which seems a bit disappointing. Again, it is smudgeproof and waterproof. Price: around 200Rs (after discount)
8. Colorbar I-glide pencil (electra 04)*
I had already used up the black kajal in this range. So the next time I visited their store the counter girl suggested me to go for a different colour. Hence Electra 04 came into picture. It is a nice dark blue colour. I mainly use it as a eye liner as it is having gel formula and doesn’t budge or fade. But when it is applied on waterline, it tends to fade on it’s own within 2-3 hours. However, I’ve found a solution to this. After applying on my waterline, I smudge it slightly with a smudging brush and settle it with powder. This way, it stays the entire day. Price: INR499
So, that’s it. Let me know your favourites amongst these or even apart from these.
Until next time, stay beautiful and keep smiling! 🙂
