Hello! everyone. Welcome to my series of 31DaysOfNudeLips wherein I shall be sharing, reviewing and swatching 31 different shades of Nude lipsticks. I am (and will be forever) an ardent lover of nude shades. They are so apt for everyday wear, be it college or office. By now, you already know me! (so no more justifications). October is my birthday month and I want to celebrate it by sharing a nude lip shade every single day. Also, I shall not be mentioning those lipsticks which I’ve already reviewed on my blog. Hoping you enjoy this series as much as I do, let’s begin in no particular order. The lipstick that I’ve chosen for Day 6 is Maybelline New York Color Sensational Creamy Matte in the shade Nude Nuance.
Price: Rs.450 for 4.2gm product. You can always get it at a cheaper price on sale, so never ever buy it at the MRP. Never!
Packaging: Maybelline New York Color Sensational Creamy Matte lipstick has a colour coded semi-transparent cap and a shiny bullet. You can easily distinguish the shade in your lipstick stash.
Texture & pigmentation: Creamy matte is the exact and most appropriate name for this range. The lipstick applies effortlessly and just one swipe is enough to get the actual shade on the lips. It provides full coverage and a matte finish. The lipstick does transfer but not crazily. Also, it sets more with time, meaning it turns (kind of) transfer-proof with time. It stays on pretty much the entire day yet doesn’t feel drying on the lips. (but you can definitely feel the lipstick drying on the lips after 3 hours or so without feeling uncomfortable at all).
The shade is a chocolaty brown shade which is famous as a dupe for MAC Whirl. (I’ve heard this, I don’t own Whirl hence can’t comment on how close match this is!)
My verdict on Maybelline New York Color Sensational Creamy Matte:
I love the formula of Maybelline New York Color Sensational Creamy Matte lipstick. It is so creamy yet gives a matte finish (not drying matte though). the formula is so comfortable that I can prefer this range any day for office wear. Though the shade looks a slight warm brown in few swatches online but, for some reasons, it looks more of a greyish brown on me. If I use this alone then it makes me look a little dull but when I pair it up with an intense eye look, boy! this looks amazing. In short, this is a perfect nude when all attention is grabbed by the eyes (for me). I definitely see myself purchasing more shades from this range.
