Hello! everyone. Welcome to my series of 31DaysOfNudeLips wherein I shall be sharing, reviewing and swatching 31 different shades of Nude lipsticks. I am (and will be forever) an ardent lover of nude shades. They are so apt for everyday wear, be it college or office. By now, you already know me! (so no more justifications). October is my birthday month and I want to celebrate it by sharing a nude lip shade every single day. Also, I shall not be mentioning those lipsticks which I’ve already reviewed on my blog. Hoping you enjoy this series as much as I do, let’s begin in no particular order. The lipstick that I’ve chosen for Day 2 is NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in the shade Ibiza.
Price: Rs.600 for 8ml product.
Packaging: It comes in a plastic colour coded tube. The wand is short and not pointy but applies the lip cream effectively.
Texture & pigmentation: This NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream has a smooth velvety texture which resembles that of a mousse. It applies easily and provides medium coverage. Highly pigmented lips will peek through but not much. You can get full coverage if you apply foundation over the lips.
It has a chemical vanilla fragrance. The shade is a beautiful pink which tones down a bit once dried and is apt for everyday wear. Will suit fair to medium (and slightly beyond) skin tones.
My verdict on NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream:
I have 5 shades of NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream, I think I need not say more. The formula is matte but very comfortable. Also, these do dry down but not entirely and hence do not settle into the lip lines. A very slight moisture remains through (this varies from shade to shade). Staying power is around 4 hours on my lips along with lunch and drinks. For some this might be a downside that it doesn’t last the entire day and transfers ever so slightly. Also, after 4 hours or so, it starts pilling off from the inner side of the lips, hence I always reapply, after wiping it off entirely. You can get similar lip cream from Miss Claire and dupes for most of the shades but, in the end, its all about personal preferences. Disclaimer: Might apply patchy in one layer as it is not full coverage. A couple of layers will make the application even.
Concluding my thoughts here. I hope you liked my review and if you did, do consider subscribing to my blog. Show some love by liking, sharing and commenting your views/thoughts. Until next time, stay beautiful & keep smiling!
