It’s Skin PO Effector serum | Review

If you’ve been following me for some time then by now you are already aware of my obsession with Korean skincare! Today I am reviewing It’s Skin PO Effector serum as it claims to have oil controlling properties (which my skin desperately demands!) Read on to discover more about this product.

It’s Skin PO Effector serum

Price: 30ml product retails for 950Rs which according to me is affordable.

Availability: The brand has recently been launched in India and is available on few e-commerce websites like Nykaa, Amazon & Flipkart. I’ve heard that It’s Skin products are also available on health & glow stores. (correct me if I am wrong)

The packaging consists of a coloured glass bottle with a pipette & a rubber squeezer and an outer cap. You have to squeeze at least 3-4 times to get the product into the pipette as the rubber quality doesn’t create enough vacuum for the mechanism.

The pipette is awkwardly bent towards the end, the reason of which is still unknown to me. A normal pipette could easily have made its way & would have worked without the awkwardness!

It’s Skin PO Effector serum has a noticeable fragrance when you sniff directly from the bottle but the smell subsides to a great extent upon application. I, personally, am fond of the fragrance and find it pleasant. The consistency is milky and on the runnier side. The serum gets absorbed into the skin instantly without a hint of shine on the face.

The product boasts of its power ingredient HOUTTUYNIA CORDATA.

Houttuynia Cordata Thuburg, which is the extract for the traditional Korean medicine based cosmetic care are contained to mitigate skin and to minimize sebum. Moreover, all types of moisturising substances turn the skin soft, smooth and fresh. They transmit sufficient amount of moisture deep into the skin so that the skin can absorb the nutrition effectively. (1)

My verdict on It’s Skin PO Effector serum:

I have been using this serum since January, not regularly but pretty consistently. Honestly, there is no reduction in my pores size which I wasn’t even expecting. It’s Skin PO Effector serum provides mild hydration, moisturization and somehow helps in reducing sebum production up to some extent. I’ve noticed my face turns oily but after 3-4 hours only which is pretty good for my oily skin. I’ve tried a combination of many foundations and compacts but felt that sebum production gets delayed after applying this serum. I use it in my AM routine as I have targetted skincare ingredients in my PM routine.

Technically, you can’t shrink your pores unless you get a laser treatment done! But you definitely mimic small pores by keeping the sebum at bay. And this is exactly what It’s Skin PO Effector serum does.

If you are looking for a miraculous change then go for laser treatments (and you won’t be disappointed) but if you are realistic and wish to go for sebum reduction, I’d suggest you give It’s Skin PO Effector serum a try at least.
