Being 30!

Hello, everyone! Yes, it’s my birthday and I’ve turned 30 today. I know I am no longer young, supposed to be mature and behave in a systematic way. But who cares? Aging is something we have no control on but growing up is definitely in our hands. Today, I just thought of sharing what life taught me in these 30 years. (No, this is NOT a lecture!)

1. Shortcut to success

The only shortcut and guaranteed way to success is hard work. Be it school, interview or even Instagram account, only hard work can get you success. You CANNOT give up on hard work! I’ve tried many shortcuts and trust me, none of them worked in the long run! 😉

2. There is a time for everything

I was never on good terms with PATIENCE! I used to be the most impatient person you could ever find. But gradually I learned that there is a time for everything! So be patient, keep working and wait for your time to come. Barack Obama retired at an age of 52 while Donald Trump took over at the age of 70! Stressing is not good, neither for you nor for your skin.

3. You cannot get everything

I used to crave for a quiet long walk and a party night at the same time! I wanted the best of all worlds which in reality is not practical! In order to enjoy something in the present, some-other-thing somewhere has to be left. It is you who has to choose what to cherish and what to pass. (Feel free to imagine Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani’s sunset wala scene-it truly opened my eyes).

4. Love everyone, beginning with yourself

Stop comparing what you have with others. Instead, focus on what you have and what else you can achieve more. Love your body by keeping it fit, love your life by shunning irrelevant introspection. Working out is the second best thing I did for myself. First one is my blog, of course! So, keep loving.

5. Don’t give a damn!

Stop caring about what people think of you! Everyone is going to have a different opinion, you can’t please everyone. So focus on pleasing yourself too and let people get accustomed to that

6. Explore

Travel to a new place, be it a restaurant or a picnic spot, at least once a month! Try new activities, discover your love for new hobbies, new happening places in town and enjoy them. It helps a lot, adds beautiful memories and helps the heart (and the mind) to be more open to new things. Also, adds confidence.

Being 30 is not always about deciding what you’ve done with your life, sometimes it’s about what more you wish to do. That’s it! I feel much more positive, grateful and happy. I know it’s not much but life teaches a lot many things, sooner or later. Be kind, keep sharing love and, above all, have faith in you.
