Happy Holi everyone! 🤗
With the festival of colours round the corner, there couldn’t be a better time to discuss lipsticks. Do you agree with me? So this month I shall be doing more of lipsticks/blush/eyeshadows posts, basically all colourful stuff! ft. Colour Series.🎨
Today I am discussing two shades from Maybelline Colorsensational range💄. One is amongst their new launches ~ Creamy Matte Lipstick in the shade Siren In Scarlet & the regular creamy Lipstick in the shade Blissful Berry. Today is going to be ‘on the point’ review without much rambling😷. So, let’s dive into the details:
Packaging: These have similar packaging that comprises of a chrome finish tube with a semi-transparent lid which is colour-coded with the lipstick shade. (Super convenient!) Also, the matte one has a matte lid and the creamy one has a glossy lid. So these are not only colour-coded but also formula-coded. It has a pretty classy look. Also, these are quite travel friendly as the cap is not going to come off on its own.
Fragrance: These smell sweet, vanilla like. Heavenly!!!😍
Siren In Scarlet: (New Launch)💄
Price: Rs.575 for 4.2g of product.with a shelf life of 30 months.
Formula: As rightly describes as creamy matte, this lipstick initially applies creamy which later turns matte. It is very easy to apply, unlike other matte lipsticks, and glides on super smoothly.
Pigmentation: This is an indeed pigmented shade. One swipe and it gives an opaque finish. Also, it gives equal colour payoff and doesn’t look patchy at all.💋
Staying power: This has an amazing staying power. This particular shade has a staying power of about 5 hours after which it started fading leaving a lovely stain behind. Though matte, it does transfer a little.
The verdict: I absolutely loved the lipstick as well as the shade. A striking red shade is a must in every girl’s makeup vanity and this shade is perfect for that. Though matte, but it is not at all drying on the lips. It doesn’t accentuate or settles into lines and gives a nice finish. I am super impressed with this as it DOESN’T irritate my super dry lips. It is a lightweight formula which is super easy to carry along the entire day/night.
Blissful Berry 💄
Price: Rs.500 for 4.2g of product with a shelf life of 36 months.
Formula: Its formula is super creamy which glides on like a dream on the lips! It gives a glossy finish with a perfect shine. It keeps lips moisturized which is great.
Pigmentation: Though creamy in nature, it is very well pigmented. It gives amazing coverage with 1-2 swipes and looks amazing. The colour payoff is also very good.💋
Staying power: As it is a cream based formula, the staying power is not as great as the matte ones. It stays for 3-4 hours and then starts fading. Also, it leaves a minimal stain hence you’ll need to reapply. Reapplication is easy and it doesn’t look patchy at all.
The verdict: I absolutely love the shade. It is a perfect wear for offices. The shade is neither nude nor over the top, which is perfect! I’ve been using this almost every alternate day because of the formula. It is a boon for my super dry lips. I need not look out for my lipbalm during office hours when I’ve applied this. It does transfer, so a little care should be taken. But this is the case with every creamy lipstick. Also, it is not survive heavy-oily meals. But I love it, nonetheless.
So, these were my experiences with the lispticks. Hand swatches are inserted below. Do you want to see the lip swatches as well?🤔 Let me know. Shall do them on Instagram.
So, which are your favourite shades these days?? Do let me know. I am super obsessed with lippies these days and have been buying lipsticks like it’s nobody’s business. So, be prepared for many lipstick posts in the near future.
There’s no “Who can try this out?” because there is no barrier for lipsticks. If you like the shade, just pick it up. It is that simple!
