L.A. Girl PRO face HD matte pressed powder review

LA Girl cosmetics need no introduction. Though it’s a brand from USA but is famous worldwide. It’s a drugstore brand having quality products which do not dig a hole in your pocket! You can visit their website here and have a look at their products.

Nykaa, sometime back, launched LA Girl in India. It was a kind of soft launch and not much showcasing was done. But it didn’t matter much because I was excited by the mere fact of LA Girl being available to me, in India!! 🤗 And because of that excitement I straightaway ordered their PRO face HD matte pressed powder without going into the shade details (yes! I was that crazy).

I randomly chose the shade medium beige (GPP609) because in most of the other brands I am mostly in the shade beige. But this time, I lost the gamble. I got a shade which was approx. 2 shades darker to my skin tone. But then, there was nothing to be disheartened about, I got a contour product! You see, I never waste my beauty products, I love them to death. 😘

Coming to the product:

Price: INR700

Shade: The shade is called medium beige which is 2 shades darker than my skin tone. (I am NC42)

Packaging: The packaging contains a transparent lid which makes the compact powder visible. Below this there is another compartment that holds the mirror and a sponge.

Texture: When you first run your fingers into the pan, you feel like you’ve touched velvet. It instantly reminded me of my MAC Studiofix powder compact. Though, the latter is more velvety.

The verdict: Like I already mentioned, the shade is too dark for me. So I started using this as a contour product. I was just amidst trial and error when I discovered that it is a great product! It gives a light contoured look and the best part:the colour stays for the entire day. Yes!

I went one step ahead and applied it on my entire face to test and the result was amazing! It gives medium coverage and mattifies my skin. It controls oil for around 4 hours. It beautifully blends into the skin and doesn’t give a cakey feeling at all. It, somehow, resembles my MAC studiofix. Not entirely but it definitely has a texture and effect similar to that of MAC.

Will I repurchase? Definitely, I’ll put my hands on the correct shade next time. 😉 Also, I am dying to try their concealers.

So, what are your thoughts on the product? Have you tried it yet? Let me know in the comments below.
